Title: Tale of the Missing Deposit and the Overworked (I Assume) Customer Service
Post by: DSGE on February 21, 2013, 06:05 am
As you can tell from the message icon, this is indeed a sad tale... a tale full of the faces o' frown.  The completion of this tale though has yet to be carved in alabaster and steel, so there is still hope to be had...

I deposited a large amount of btc that never showed up in my account on Thursday, the 14th (the day the recent Silk Road accounting crisis began).  I waited at first for a few days, but then finally submitted a message to customer support about 50 hours ago.  19 hours ago, I get a message: "Did it come through yet?"  I am sorry to say that at that point I was somewhat annoyed because obviously it had not, and so they were just shoving me aside for later.  I replied nonetheless by informing them that it had not, and by again stating all my information, and I added the exact time and date and amount of the deposit on the blockchain record.  I have heard nothing since then.  My system shows that they have not even read the message that I sent back to them yet.  I decided to send a second message 4 hours ago to tell them that I have still not received the deposit yet, so that I would avoid getting another question like that again.

In my situation, I now realize that this is going to cost me a few hundred bucks, at the very least, or perhaps a grand or more - not a fortune, but a substantial loss for me nonetheless.  It is unfortunate that customer support is not able to do anything about this, given the fact that it appears to have happened to a number of individuals.  I will continue to wait... and hope.  If anyone hears anything that could help my situation, please do not hesitate to PM me.

It is somewhat reassuring to find that I am not the only one from the other posts on the board, however I would like to come across at least one person who has had this issue resolved!  Please step forward and tell us of your beautiful triumph, if you exist and are reading this!  Any other helpful help will be much appreciated, but please leave the non-helpful help out of this narrative.

Until the next chapter of this tale is written:

Best wishes to you all,
D

Um, of COURSE support will make sure you get your money - they may just have to push it through manually.  Give them time.  You told them 19 hours ago that the deposit had not yet come through, so give them time to figure it out.  If you still haven't heard back from them by Friday, message them again.

Regardless, you WILL get your deposit.

Is there any reason you waited until two days ago to contact support for a deposit you attempted on the 14th?

Yes, because of the Silk Road crisis that occurred on the 14th.  I wanted to give them some time because they were fixing the Silk Road.  Then, I waited until towards the end of the weekend/vacation because I had heard that people were not going to be in until Tuesday anyway.

I told them more than 50 hours ago that I had not received my deposit.  I wasn't aware that they would ask me if I had received it before actually doing anything, as naturally I thought they would assume that based on the fact that I had said I had not received the deposit yet and it was from the 14th.  I'm not trying to make a stink about it really.  Like I said, I wanted to hear from someone who had had this issue resolved.  I have heard of many people saying that their deposits were screwed up, but I have yet to hear from anyone who says they have resolved their deposit issues from the 14th.

Considering all the mess it made, I wouldn't be surprised if Support was just taking longer than usual due to fixing all of the issues.

Well naturally, I still hold on to hope for a beautiful and pleasing ending to this tale o' mine.   :)

If anybody has successfully gotten their deposit from the 14th (from the crisis generally too, of course) into their account at this point, please tell your story here!   :-\

all resolved for me... took SR about a week to get back to me with a resolution but they did in the end... I assumed they were just over worked and I was right.

I guess we can't complain too much, with what we get out of SR.

Thanks for posting!  It's good to hear that they are fixing the deposit problems caused by last Thursday's system breakdown.  I will just continue to hope that they come through sooner rather than later then!   :)

 :(

Still nothing, but hopefully I will receive another communique later today.  I naturally had higher hopes after I had received that first response from customer service, but now I am somewhat disillusioned with the fact that my response to their initial response has still gone unanswered.  While I wait for their mystic and divine intervention, I will sit here and pray to the gods of the Silk Road - starting with the holiest of the holy, Dread Pirate Roberts.   :'(  Will my cries go answered?   ::)  We will soon find out, in the next episode titled, "Something happens concerning guy's thingsywhat money puter-inner whats-it."  Will I cheer with a yahoo of delight?   :D  Or will I cry like the Whore of Babylon and melt my face into some beastly Satanic poopstain of an allegorical nightmare #2 deposit of stinky putteringesters?   ???  Only time, or an exacting lobotomy, will truly tell.  :o  To be continued...

I just popped up to the fifth floor to speak to DPR personally about this and he told me to tell you to quit your whining and let support do their job  ;)

Patience is a virtue.

Sounds legit.  But wait... wait a se... no... no... no, no no NO!  DPR is never actually on the 5th floor; he's only ever on the 8th floor!  A little-known, yet true factual truth of his vertical-floor-walkabout habitings!

:'(  It appears that you have lied to my face... right to my virtual computer matrix-style face, which makes me sob uncontrollably - both in the matrix and in the real world.   :'(  Why?  Ho... how could you?   :'(

Side Note:   ;)  Patience is a virtue only if the thing that one is patient for would come regardless of one's patience.   ;)

(Also, I've already lost $800 because this deposit is over a week late, so please forgive me for having to blow off a little steam - it's not really hurting anybody at least.)

DSGE has taken whining to the level of ART!

I have to say, if I was out a grand I'm not sure I'd be in such a good mood. Cheers to you, good sir, for having fun with a frustrating situation. Thanks for a good read, and best of luck to you!

 ;D

GOOD NEWS:   As of now, I am currently resolved in terms of my bitcoin poopy-tardy sauce and all that meandering time flopping coconut slangin undergarb fuck-no's of the bitcoin deposit realm!

BAD NEWS:   :'(  I have discovered that two of my bitinstant deposits never actually made it through the blockchain (so were basically never deposited - fuck's sake   >:( )  So now, I have the fun task of going after their support system to retrieve the rest of my funds.

Basically, the date Feb. 14th, 2013 will always live in my mind as the one where every single system I use to deposit my coinbitties resulted in some ridiculous flub flub.  Blub blub perpaproodle woodle ganoodle stroodle!!!

 :o :( >:( ??? ::) ;) :-[ :-\ :'( ??? 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Just pointing out how rare and refreshing it is to see someone take a setback like yours in stride.  Good form, good show ol' boy, and all the rest of that British stuff :)
