I have relogged twice, got locked out for several hours each time.
I've tried the transaction over 50 times. I've got my BC, my PGP code is perfect, I even followed the etiquette guide when constructing the message for the vendor. What the hell is going on? Why can't I buy something. This has been a constant issue for over a day. Does anyone have an explanation?

I have no idea what you're talking about. PGP code? Message for the vendor...?
Are you certain that you're on "http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion"?

Unfortunately i dont have an explanation but your not the only one,i'm having the same error message coming up after trying to place an order.what with that and the postage option not working i've given up and will try again tommorow. It allways gets fixed in the end ;)

Look, I know I'm new but that's no reason to be purposefully difficult...

I have my money tied up in this right now, why do you have to be a dick?

... I'm not trying to be. I think you misunderstood my meaning. There's a phishing site that's been going around -- Wikipedia was linking to it for awhile. I don't know if you meant PIN instead of PGP code, or really what you meant. Apparently you're having a worse time of it than I thought, because I really don't think what I said was rude. I was expressing willingness to help but a total lack of any idea where to begin, because -- again -- I had no idea what you were talking about.
The site doesn't check your "PGP code," which would be your encrypted address. That could be gibberish and the order would go through just fine. Sure, you can call your address a message for the vendor... but I think of it as, the "address input field."
Seriously man. I dunno what to tell you -- I wasn't being sarcastic. I wasn't sure what you meant, felt too lazy to sum up the things I was confused about, and so said "I have no idea what you're talking about," and asked if you were on the right site or the phishing site.

Yeah man, my bad. I've been at this for over 24 hours now and it's really starting to get to me. Like, I did a lot of research before I got here, and know that my PGP code in the address field isn't checked, but I was saying that to point out that I've looked into doing this the right way (again, even though that wouldn't have an effect on the transaction). When I put in my PIN, and hit "place order," I get taken to my account screen with that same error message. Just tried it again 10 seconds ago. It's really really really frustrating.
Is there something I'm missing. My bitcoins are displayed at the top of the screen, have more than 6 (the order costs 4.6). Do I need to withdraw them into escrow? What screen are you supposed to see after you click "place order?"
-
LOL, of course you would ask something that I've seen a dozen times... ummm... I can't remember exactly what happens. Well it sure isn't what you're describing.
I think it's a problem with the site right now. No, you shouldn't have to do anything other than what you're doing. I don't know though, I made an order just fine yesterday. Infact I made 3...

Getting the same error - unable to choose shipping option, PIN is correct, get the "log out, log in" error. Seems there's a hacking issue. More details here: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=94412.0

Same here, says log out log in try again....... wtf?
-
anybody able to finish their orders yet? still having the same issue here
-
I've placed 4 in the past 2 days without a single issue... shrug. Sorry guys, dunno what to say.
-
I closed everything, and changed my password then pin. works now. works FOR now I should say...
-
This happens to me often, but it's always fixed as long as I close all programs and then launch them again. Just logging out and in doesn't work, have to close the browser, restart Tor. Not sure if you tried that or not before you found your fix, maybe you did and it still didn't work for you, but in any case I'm glad you found a solution for now. Hopefully SR patches that bug at some point.

Thanks SledNeck and Briocheknit for posting. I got a response from SR support, and there are two options: Relog or restart Tor. The second option seems to be the better one.
Anecdotally, I can tell you that the most success is as follows:
- Log out
- Close and Restart Tor
- Log in to SR
- Go to your cart
- Enter your PIN and shipping options PERFECTLY ON THE FIRST TRY. Make sure you click the "Go!" button next to the shipping option you choose. I've only had the error happen 5-10% of the time when my info is all correct. When I screwed something up on the first try (usually forgetting to confirm my shipping), I will get the error 100% of the time until I refresh Tor.
I was really struggling with this for a bit, but I placed 2 orders yesterday and they went through fine.
Post if this works for you!

Woops-- sorry smokedsmurf, mistook SledNeck saying he'd found a fix for you having said so, haha. :-[ But I'm glad now you have! I'd say what you posted is spot on troubleshooting advice.

having the same issuse

This happened to me trying to place an order this morning. I shut down, rebooted started TOR up, logged back in, tried to place my order and was told my pin was reset. I just reset my pin yesterday so I know I entered it correct. Something phishy is going on and I'm not happy. I just wanted to have an order here before the weekend but I guess that's not going to happen now. Sigh. grr...Is there only one person that does customer support for SR. I can't even seem to get a response. Changed my password though in case I was phished or something

This happens to me every time
These are the steps to clear it.
1.)Edit-Copy your url of your checkout
2.)Delete TOR
3.)Re-install TOR
4.)Get new identity in TOR
5.)Paste the url into TOR
6.)Checkout
