First of all I'd like to introduce myself. This is my first post on the forum (which has been extremely helpful) and I am preparing to make my first purchase. I would like to message a certain vendor to introduce myself. I'm not sure if it is common to message a vendor for the purpose of introduction or not, but I'm not sure if I include my PGP and then the encrypted message... or if I only include my PGP and assume they'll get ahold of me some how. I've seen some vendors who say they'll only message through SR, which isn't a problem for me, I'm just not sure how to send the initial message.

Depending on the vendor, you may get a wonderfully friendly and polite response. Or absolutely none at all. Or even a rude, bitchy one. Do bear in mind that some of these people process literally dozens or even hundreds of orders a day in rare cases. If everyone introduced themselves, nobody's package would ever get finished and mailed, ya know.
If you want to message them, go right ahead. Customer service is a necessary part of the business, so most will at least answer questions for you. If you want to provide your public key for them to encrypt their response to you with, generally you paste it at the end of the message and then use the vendor's public key to encrypt the entire message (your public key included).
Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention... if you've got fresh buyer stats (0 purchases), you may have an order or two canceled w/o explanation. Don't take it personally. And yeah, it's probably a good idea to send a polite message saying that you're new and have heard some people try to scam vendors with throw-away accounts, but that you're just making your first purchase and don't plan on taking advantage or anything.
I'll tell you a secret... I didn't provide a name on my first order. The vendor (rightly) sent me a message saying simply, "new buyer stats?" I said yes, blah-blah. He responded with "I NEED A NAME OR IT WON'T SHIP!" He turned out to be very nice though, didn't even ask me to FE. But yeah. Expect to raise an eyebrow.
