Is there a reason to pay 120+ usd/gram?Also, and maybe this doesn't belong here, is commercially available ephedrine/pseudo racemic? There are probably very few people who pay attention to this thread that even know what you're asking, so I guess you could say it would be better asked elsewhere... but really it's perfectly relevant: I can't speak for the entire world or anything, but generally it's relatively enantiomerically pure. I'm not sure if the technical definition is 100% or just "close enough," but most of it's pretty close to pure dextro meth (though I don't lab test every shard I get, obviously). As for sudafed, I really don't know, but I don't see how it could possibly not be enantiomerically pure when the reduction of it yields only dextro meth and not a racemic product. If that isn't due to the chirality of the precursor, I'd love to have a chemistry buff teach me why it happens -- in case anybody wants to bother enlightening us all :)Also, it's worth noting that many of us have strong suspicions that pure dextro meth -- despite what popular opinion would have you believe -- is *not* the most desirable. Racemic meth is what many people scour the world looking for. A lot of very smart people here believe that the so called elixir of sex + euphoric qualities of meth are mostly found in a racemic product. As for myself, I think it's a very strong possibility. I'm not positive it's true, but so far the theory fits everything I've seen.
