AmphS04 is not soluble in acetone anyway, so you can't overdo it. From my experience using ethanol: I used roughly 10ml/g, I just went by the saturation of the ethanol solution.I have no idea how many washes I want since I have no idea what the substance is that I'm trying to wash out. I don't want to go into the whole acetone discussion again (I think that came up quite a few times before), but from what I've read 100% pure acetone is near impossible and it will be more likely 99.5% - 99.8% pure. Which leaves me with a tiny bit of water to steal my precious amphetamines, so I would prefer to use as little acetone as possible :)The 'white odorless powder with no chunks whatsoever' that jackinthebox got sounds perfect so I hope he can enlighten me on his procedure.I've read somewhere that you can put your acetone in the freezer before using it, but i have no idea if it worksExactly right, there are H2O impurities in any acetone that you'll find at a store. You actually want it hot, not cold, so don't put it in the freezer -- as a solvent's temperature rises, so does its potency as a solvent (the amount that will dissolve in it increases). Do remember how incredibly, unbelievably flammable acetone (including the vapor) is though; I'm sure room temperature will be fine if you don't want to play with fire.Usually for a truly clean product, people wash once with one solvent (acetone here), then once more with another solvent that whatever their drug isn't soluble in. Then if they want it to be the purest of pure, once more with a third solvent or one of the ones already used just to be sure. The idea behind three different ones is that each one hopefully dissolves another byproduct or impurity that the other two didn't pull out.One wash should get nearly everything you don't want out. Two will make it very, very clean. Three will probably waste more product than you want.
