While in small doses meth acts just like amphetamine, and is even prescribed for ADHD (desoxyn)it also has a greater potential for abuse.Caffeine is legal because it's really hard to overdo it with caffeine. You don't get greater and greater effects the more coffee you take, there is a sweet spot. With amphetamine you can push the limits a little farther, but too much speed also causes headaches. With meth, you can easily get to a level of euphoria and tweakiness that is beyond safe. When you're on a speed binge at a certain point you get headaches and bodyload and such, with meth you can get much farther without those problems, and experience levels of euphoria impossible on speed. This makes it not only more addictive but more harmful to dopamine receptors and such.Sort of like the gradient with opiates where from least addictive to most addictive it goes like: codeine, vicodin, oxycontin, IV morphine, IV heroin.Heroin has the most powerful effects, so you might say, "why don't people buy heroin instead of pharm pills, considering it's much cheaper for the same effect?" same argument as with meth vs amphetamine. You can still get addicted to vicodin, it's just not as hard to break or as easy to OD as with heroin.Just my 2 cents.Interestingly enough, I tend to agree. I say "interestingly enough," because I've never really heard this stated anywhere. It's been my experience though, in a nutshell; I mean it's not precisely how it's been for me, but the basic premise is true. If you don't have a problem with speed though, I don't see why you'd have a problem with orally dosed meth.On another note... jagfug, I like you when you aren't drinking man. But damn, you get awfully nasty when you're drunk. Don't get me wrong, I used to drink too much and get mean one out of every four times myself (I don't drink anymore, actually); still, that doesn't really change the facts.
