Quote from: dead salmon on January 02, 2013, 10:42 pmThat KMF...something guy cracks me up with his psychotic ultraviolent ravings about how every cop in the land should be executed for enforcing unjust laws and such. It's refreshing and I get where he's coming from - they're at war with us, they want a war they should get a war - but get real man that shit's never going get anywhere, funny as it is.Those posts are kmfkewm? I didn't notice at the time... At first when I read them I was like, "dude, wtf, are you nuts?" Then I very quickly realized I can't argue with him. I mean it really isn't that out there, bizarrely enough. Burning witches at the stake was the law for awhile; I sure as Hell don't think people should be allowed to burn someone for something that's impossible though (and even if it is/were possible, what made it evil even so -- the devil? Oh please).I think what the police do to drug users and/or sellers is an outright tragedy. Lives are being destroyed this very second, and I'm not talking about drugs doing it. I don't think the police deserve to die for it, but I still think they're doing evil -- not justice, but very real damaging evil -- by doing their jobs in this instance. Why should we accept an evil law? So it's the law, so what. It's an evil fucking law. Shouldn't we protect ourselves against someone trying to do us harm without good justification? I mean personally I'm not gonna be shooting any cops for trying to arrest me... I'll just try to get out of it the usual way, myself. But cops will outright kill you if you pose a real risk to their well being. I mean they won't try to wound you, they'll shoot to kill if they think you're out to hurt them badly (or to kill them). It's almost necessary that you either just stay quiet and work within the system and suffer this injustice, or... well... You end up saying that you refuse to recognize the validity of the law, that they have no right to physically enforce their ideology on you, and what you end up with is basically shooting them in the fucking head for trying to take your life away. Which is basically what kmfkewm says, if I recall. It's an extreme position, but it's hard to argue with the logic. Look at the situation without seeing the police as basically good, and the cops are just plain hurting people. Sometimes very, very badly -- what else can you call stealing half (or more) of someone's only life, and then haunting them with a felony record even after they're "free." America wouldn't even exist if people didn't defend themselves against unjust laws. (and then we turned around and fucked over everybody already here -- but that's something different entirely, ahem).I really think his position is reasonable, frankly -- you can't just go along with the laws no matter what. In my mind Socrates was a putz for suggesting otherwise. A wise putz, maybe, but still a putz.
