Title: Bitinstant to SR wallet time?????
Post by: DairyFarmerDude on May 30, 2013, 06:03 pm
So I went and put my first money down for my account about an hour ago.  I just got home and wanted to check its status......Well, nothing there yet..Before I start freaking out.  What is the length of time I should expect to wait while waiting for the monies to be deposited to SR wallet?  Should I just be patient and give it a minute before I start acting like wtf??  Thanks for reading and offering your insights.

Well, once the btc is sent by Bitinstant, it should arrive in your wallet in 1-2 hours, or after 6 confirmations.  You can check on blockchain.info by putting your receiving wallet address into the search field!

How long did you wait to send your funds to bitinstant after creating your payment slip dude?

It says I've got 120hours to send the money before it expires and I plan to do it tomorrow haha Just makin sure that even though I've had the slip since the 27th that it will still work. my slip says it's valid through 6/01/2013

I printed mine off today and paid for them today....I had two.  My first was from medicineman33 and his website...(his site actually led me to silk road)...Was just kinda sketch about my real name being used for his...But I gave a bogus ass address from my old city with my new city's zip code!  And just jumbled up my real cell phone number.....The one I did for SR was a breeze dude....I made up a bogus name, address, number, birthday the whole enchilada and waltzed into Wally's filled the form out and it was cake dude.  It should still be good if it says it on the form.....It took roughly 2 hours for my funds to deposit into my SR wallet.

So wait? You guys sent coins from Bitinstant DIRECTLY to your sr wallet?  No Mt gox, no bit fog, no instawallet, or bitcoin to e-mail?  You sent coin straight from bitinstant directly to the address given as your SR wallet?  Ballsy.  Never have the nads to try it though I always wondered.
Scout I saw you posted in this thread can you weigh in on this?

They didn't ask you for an ID? Was it really that smooth? Yeah it would be nice to go with someone beforehand to see how it should go

It's never taken longer than two hours for me using walmart and bitinstant. I too always use fake info there.

Yep went like a breeze, no questions asked, even if they did i'm sure you could say it was for your friend or roomate. I'm not aware of the sketchyness of going straight to the wallet, but this is what my friend has done and has made maybe 100 transactions. Remind you though, this was several months to a year ago when he was big into it, but we made an order together last week and this is the same way we did it.

Yes siree I did!  I thought about it too.....But in all honesty....They don't know where its going.  They have a wallet address that could practically exist anywhere.  Furthermore I do not think they can tell where the wallet is/from....But I'm a total noob at this.  So I could be wrong.  I am not worried.  I gave all fake info and used cash....I'm really not ll that freaked about it...and trust me...I'm a paranoid dude.  But someone with knowledge should chime in and let us know if this is ok, or, in the future just send them to blockchain first.  I did it because I read of others doing it.

Nice man, yeah that's true. I just need to go do it and get it over with haha. You just wrote a fake name, fake address (like an apt. building), fake birthday, fake everything? Haha

Yup....I made up all that and just walked in filled the form out and paid my money.  No worries.  No need to be nervous.  The people don't know you.  I didn't use an ID either.  If they would have asked for one I would have said it was out in my car and I don't feel like going all the way back out to get it.  If they would have insisted....I would have just walked out and went to a different location.  Just make sure your fake persona is created before you go in...lol

Just got done about three hours ago sending my cash via moneygram for my BTC through Bitinstant(:

Got home about an hour and a half ago and I had them in my wallet on SR and was sooooo happy(((:

I paid my payment slip after 4 days of creating it so just so you all know.. The 120 hour expiration is legit as fuck!!

Usually a few hours.  It use to be a lot faster but with a lot more transactions it has slowed down quite a but.

It's been awhile since I've made a deposit via bitinstant, but I'll be making one in the near future and that's how I came upon this thread.

Anyways, when I was making deposit via bitinstant a few months back I always went to the same Walmart and used the same information each time.  Always bogus information, but a real address of a business in town that I have no affiliation with.  They ask me every single time if I've ever used moneygram before and I always said yes.  Then they punch in your phone and info and look you up.  If you aren't consistent in putting down the exact same information that might get them asking questions.  But not questions about what the money is for.  Just questions about what your phone number or address is because you wrote it down incorrectly.

One time the girl asked me what zipzap was (this is the company you're sending the money to on the moneygram slip).  I just told her it was so I could buy some virtual video game stuff.  Too many people are paranoid that they are nosy.  They're not.  It's a human being making small talk.  Nothing more. It's walmart they don't care.  They want to punch out and go home.

A few times I had them send it to my e-mail.  But a few times I had it go direct to my SR address.  Again I think people on here are too paranoid about which to use.  Nobody is going to go to walmart and check video cameras because you bought a couple hundred dollars in bitcoins.  They have no idea where the money is going.  Walmart doesn't and neither does bitinstant.  That's the beauty of bitcoins.

Now in my opinion the only time to get paranoid in the whole process is when the stuff gets delivered.  For whatever reason the USPS scares the shit out of me.  All it takes is one postal inspector to do his job and them to come after you with the cooperation of law enforcement and you're screwed.  So from the time I place my order until the time it arrives I'm a pretty nervous guy.

i hear that.
i dont think that they're not doing their job though. i have a feeling its incredibly hard to pick out domestic letters for contraband. like there is millions of them. you can spend all day closely inspecting them. i'm nervous too while me stuff is in-transit but then i never ever hear of anyone getting busted domestically doing this lol you would think someone would log on to the forums and say hey i got caught but i never see it. its always international customs letters or CDs and even those are rare and how many people actually admit/accept it when it happens and go to jail. i bet most of the time its a large seizure at customs which gets them a search warrant and then they find a dirty house and thats why the dude goes down. cause he didnt take the time to follow the simple rules
