Title: Ordered with a potential Scammer - Is it too late?
Post by: cancellations on May 29, 2013, 12:34 pm
Hey Guys,

Late last night jumped on this dude's profile:
http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/user/04fff7484e

Found some cheap MDMA, I thought I would get for a friend as a present. I was tired, didn't think, didn't research etc. Anyways - It's almost 100% a scam. Price is too cheap, and a forum search didn't reveal much information.

It says the order is being 'processed' and I don't have the option to cancel for 4 days. I'm assuming in this time, he will say that he has 'shipped', I won't finalise, then what can I expect?

This is my first time through this. Maybe a cheap lesson? Maybe I can get away without losing out?

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Don't finalize, just be prepared to have your money tied up for a bit.  I made a purchase in escrow, vendor marked item in transit and then sent a message saying the product would be shipped once I finalize.  I sent several messages saying to cancel the order because I won't finalize early.  Vendor was unresponsive.  If he marks it in transit, you will have to wait for the majority of the 17 days to pass (can't remember if it was 10-12 day).  Then you can hit resolve, propose a resolution, and the vendor has 5 days until SR finally steps in and makes a decision.

Thanks for the reply bro.

It wasn't for much. Will this mess with my buyer stats? Like will it show that I've stuffed a 'vendor' around, because it will look like I cancelled a 'sent' order?

Anyway - I haven't had any communication from the Vendor yet. Hopefully it's still there to cancel in 4 days, if not, I guess the worst that can happen is my funds will be tied up.

As long as you stay in escrow, your funds will be safe.  Just take the order to resolution as soon as that becomes available to you (or cancel if that option becomes available).  If the vendor is banned prior to you requesting your refund, then it won't affect your buyer stats.  However, if the vendor still have his vendor privileges at the time of the refund, it will count against your refund rate.

By way - checked out the vendor's page and it looks like they've only been a vendor for 11 days ... so just because there aren't reviews doesn't NECESSARILY mean he's a scammer.  It's a little worrisome, but certainly it's possible that they're just new.

Cheers Scout,

Yeah - I didn't necessarily thing they were a scammer 100% - just looked likely. They still haven't finalised? Seems weird to set up an account, not monitor it, offer MDPV and MDMA and also sell legal liver tablets, but when someone makes an order - just leave it and don't touch it?

Anyway - hope for my sake he just leaves it. A refund mark against me would look shit.

Just a little thought I have from my gut, I wouldnt think a scammer would come on trying to sell legal liver cleanse pills, thats just a feeling I have, but I could be wrong, and tryina be positive

Thanks man! I like you! You're keeping my hopes alive. At the end of the day, this just shows what a great system SR has. This guy could be legit, he could be a scammer. It doesn't matter - I'm safe, and so is everyone else who stays in escrow.
