Title: Vancouver company intercepts LSD-laced mail

Quote

A Vancouver printing company believes they have uncovered an international LSD trafficking ring that is shipping drugs using their name.

Over the past six months, JukeboxPrint.com says they received three pieces of mail, which at first glance, appeared to be returned to them because of a wrong address.
The company sent these stickers to a lab and discovered they were laced with LSD.The company sent these stickers to a lab and discovered they were laced with LSD. (CBC)

But upon closer inspection, operations manager Scott Mills said something was clearly amiss.

The envelopes were printed with low resolution Jukebox logos, and inside, entire paragraphs from the company’s website were lifted and printed on a flyer. But tucked in between the pages were small, square stickers.

"The stickers were a little eerie looking," Mills said. "They had psychedelic pictures on it. They were thicker."

Mills said the company called Vancouver Police, but the last officer they spoke to said the mystery envelopes were just junk mail and advised them to put the letters in the garbage.

But Mills sent the stickers to a lab instead and discovered they were laced with LSD.

The illegal hallucinogen – which is odourless, colourless and tasteless – is often painted onto small pieces of paper that people lick or swallow.
Operations manager Scott Mills worries the printing materials the company sends to its clients could be flagged by international customs. Operations manager Scott Mills worries the printing materials the company sends to its clients could be flagged by international customs. (CBC)

"Our worst fears were realized," Mills said. "It could potentially be a drug smuggling ring going internationally because each of the three envelopes that we got returned were from the States."

The Gastown-based company, which prints and ships business cards and other promotional materials to people and businesses all around the world, says they want people to know they are not shipping LSD.

Mills worries that the printing materials Jukebox sends to its clients could be flagged by international customs.

Meanwhile, Vancouver police now admit it was a mistake to dismiss the company’s concerns.

"We’re taking this very seriously. This may be the tip of the iceberg," said VPD spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham.

"There may be a small number of packages returned to the company but possibly a larger number reached their intended recipients, whether in the U.S., other areas in Canada or possibly foreign countries."

There is one potential clue found on the envelopes: the cancellation mark applied on the postage stamp indicates the letters were originally mailed from Vancouver, which means whoever stole Jukebox's identity isn't far away.

I don't think I have ever seen a story where someone got busted because they bought BTC or had stuff sent to a legit address. Most stories I see of people getting caught are a result of someone using a bogus address and having the package(s) returned.

Wow, this shit has spread like wild fire.

Please remove this OP, to possibly try and prevent further scrutiny from LEO that are local to the possible vendor in question from the article. Thank you.

This whole thread should be deleted by a mod, the cops don't need hints that this is related to the road.

Sending the wrong address is what fucked this situation the packaging is as good as it comes and yea someone needs to delete this shit.

Post by: malinche on May 17, 2013, 06:09 pm
Delete the thread? Yeah, because LEO doesn't already know about this story

Great vendor or not, the cat is already out of the bag on this one and I agree it is not the vendors fault, but the dumbass buyer who used a bogus address.

I don't think taking this thread down is going to make anything safer, nor do I think it being up is putting anyone at risk anymore than they already are as a result of this occurring.

The guy that reported the letters is a douche.

Another reason you don't use a fake / invalid address.

this seems a little reveling about shipping techniques,.. should at least remove the links or site name...
Title: Re: Vancouver company intercepts LSD-laced mail
Post by: malinche on May 17, 2013, 08:13 pm
What hasn't already been revealed? This is a news story that is being posted on other forums and whoever the vendor is better change their shipping technique because LEO is now on to this particular front.

If a mod thinks that this thread needs to me taken down or a link needs to be removed then so be it. I'm not trying to be difficult, but I don't think taking the thread down or removing a link is going to provide anyone more safety.

Maybe SR needs to make users take a quiz before they can make purchases. SR could provide a study guide that includes basic info such as "use a legit address and name" to avoid dumb shit like this occurring.

Just a thought.

Whoever the vendor is needs to be contacted immediately about this issue if they have not already informed.

This whole thread should be deleted by a mod, the cops don't need hints that this is related to the road.

My thoughts exactly.

@OP, I asked you to remove this, justt as I did the other three posters of this same article, because I was specifically asked to help keep this out of the forums by a particular party with grave relations to that story.

I don't say things too hear my self talk (type in this case), so please don't *rolleyes* at my request. Thankyou.

This is bad. This is not the vendor's fault. The stupid people who enter the wrong address are at fault. Just for your information, this vendor is one of the best vendors in the history of SR and has some of the best packaging ever.

ack.  i know which vendor this was ...

i'd encourage everyone NOT to speculate publicly as it doesn't seem to have been tied to SR yet (though now it is since LE reads the forums) ... you can still help protect the vendor in question by NOT publicly guessing who it was.

Why? Obviously (or at least hopefully) the vendor is going to change their shipping method now, and LE knows nothing more about the vendor than what they could have discovered by ordering from them (the city they ship from).

Also, it took me all of three minutes to look through the LSD listings and figure out it must be one of three vendors.

This is more dangerous for the buyers because of the main reason that people use fake addresses. LE knows that some people use a fake number that is close to their real address, hoping the the mailman will recognize the mistake and put it in their box.

LE can probably pretty easily figure out who the buyers of those returned envelopes are. If I was them, I'd clean house.

1.) THIS THREAD SHOULD BE DELETED. Yes, law enforcement is aware of this shipping technique now, but that doesn't mean the police have associated these packages with Silkroad and to the vendor (you know who) in particular. If the thread stays open, it's more likely to be linked to Silkroad.

2.) One good thing about this story: we now have definitive lab test proof that we are getting real LSD from this particular vendor. :) Now I can be rest assured that my previous LSD experiences were the real deal, not some research chemical that mimics the effects of LSD.

I just meant it might be better not to announce which vendor it was ... but you're right.

But deleting the thread would be censorship!

Well, I'm all for the judicious application of censorship, I'm just honest about it.

The people who claim to be against censorship are almost universally hypocrites, because they have no problem with deleting spam, scam posts, or locking up mere consumers of CP (but lets not get on that topic).

Sure, delete the thread, but the vendor should make the buyers aware that they may be targets of LE investigations now. The vendor should be able to figure out which of his buyers they are.

astor,

I wasn't talking about deleting the thread AT ALL!  I was trying to protect the vendor from being publicly identified on the forums by saying people shouldn't speculate about which vendor it was, but I was wrong and you were right.

I'm not deleting the thread - I never said I was going to!

As if SR isn't one of the first sites that comes to mind in this type of situation.

You were specifically asked by someone who is involved in this story? Who? The vendor or one of the dumbass buyers that sent a bogus address and drew attention to this in the first place. . .

Once again, SR is probably one of the first if not THE first site that comes to mind.

Wake up folks, they already know about this shit.

Locking/deleting the thread isn't going to change ANYTHING.

Of course they know about Silkroad. Doesn't mean they know that this particular package originated from a Silkroad dealer. Yes, this thread should be deleted. All precautions should be taken to protect the vendor.

Yeah, because Vancouver LE didn't immediately inform the local LE of the addresses of the returned packages.

LE only gets their leads from SR forum.

The only people whose safety is in danger are the buyers, who must be informed immediately.

Agreed, and hopefully the vendor has done this already.

regardless of weather the vendor is from here or not...
why the hell would a vendor use a real companies name and addy as return details ?

Nothing wrong with using real name..but why the hell would you use their real addy... obviously they are going to open it up if they get a letter...

seems rather retarded ?

and if they used a fake address and real name.. as if the post office is going to go 'oh that return addy is dodgy.. we know that company is at a diff addy'

???????????

the vendor's LSD is extremely well hidden. it's just a fluke that they actually found it. maybe they were tipped off by an angry customer or something. i've had the pleasure of ordering from this particular vendor multiple times. best packaging i've ever seen on silkroad.

How exactly would deleting this thread "quell the situation"?
Please elaborate how taking this story down is going to keep anyone safe. . .
I have posted no information that is not made available in the news story.

Yes, I am trying to keep the community safe by leaving this story up so that people might think twice before using a fake ass address. The majority of stories I see about people getting busted using online sites for drugs is because someone used a bogus address. This news story captures and presents that danger and maybe some noob who was thinking about using a fake address will see this story and decide against doing so

Are you really threatening me with negative karama? As if I give a fuck about these stupid ass little +1's or -1's

If you really want this thread to go away then stop leaving stupid ass replies with no valid request and I will have no reason to respond to your remarks with critically thought out logic.
Every time you or I reply to this thread it just gets bumped up to the top of the page.

I don't think the thread should be deleted or locked. What is the point of doing that? The vendor is obviously secure enough that they have not been arrested so far, and they are unlikely to be arrested through what they mailed unless they left forensic evidence like fingerprints on it. The people who had shit sent to wrong addresses are not going to get busted either because they gave incorrect addresses. Hopefully they didn't have it sent to their real names with wrong addresses though!

I assumed you were being sarcastic.
I have noticed a rise in my "negative karama" and have also noticed your post count shot up enough that you can now leave karma and assume you left one of my negatives.
I don't give a shit, just making an observation.

Further more I have a gut feeling that you are one of the buyers who used a bogus address which caused this mess in the first place.

If that is true. . .
