Title: I don't understand the 50 post rule/ PLZ EXPLAIN

sorry guys, i'm sure when I read some of your responses, I'm gonna say "oh, of course."
50 post's.  Does that refer to starting your own thread/post(whatever it's called)?
Does it refer to 50 plain post's? for example just making a reply post to someones question.
Why do the Subject Post's that say "Spam here to get to fifty" have so many post on them?  Does making a post on any thread do the job?
If your user name has over 50 post's next to, are you allowed to post in other threads then?
Someone please explain this to me.

50 posts of any kind -- replies, new threads, whichever.  you can either post in one of those spam to 50 threads, or just make your own. 

please be aware though that once you've gotten to 50, you should not continue to spam anywhere on the main forums.  :)

As a newbie it´s also good to read some non-spam posts. You can learn a lot about SR.
