Title: Silk Road Registration issues

I went ahead and tried to register a new account for my first purchase because I am honestly just paranoid, but it seems that the server is not accepting new accounts.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Registration is open.  The only times I've heard of people getting a page telling them registrations were closed is when they've tried to register on a fake SR site.
