Title: Should i be worried?
Post by: dan2690 on May 04, 2013, 12:17 pm
I made a fairly big order last sunday and with the attacks on silk road the vendor didn't post it until Wednesday. He posted it 1st class royal mail, It is now Saturday and still not here. I have had many orders from silk road UK to UK and none have taken more than 2 days. I am really worried because it is a lot of money to me.

Hi dan2690,

It is not unusual for postal delays to occur with orders from time to time. However, nobody can say for certain whether you should be worried or not.

As you finalised early there is nothing that Silk Road can do to help you in this instance. Never, ever FE. Feel free to PM me the name of the vendor and I'll let you know if I've heard of any problems with them in the past. You should also do a forum search for their name from the main page (click Silk Road forums in the top left corner and do your search from that page).

Always research your vendor before doing business with them, and never FE.

I'll leave this thread open for the time being to see if others have also been experiencing postal delays.

Just want to add that even during the attacks, there is nothing FORCING you to finalize early ... it is still always best to remain in escrow!

Updating to say i have still received jack all. I am almost certain he never posted it. The seller also refuses to give me a refund even though he states on his vendor page he does refunds. I have lost a lot of money from this, not happy >:(

Hi dan2690,

As scout has stated, it is always best to remain in escrow. Unfortunately there is nothing more that can be done in this situation as you Finalised Early. If you believe that the vendor has scammed you please use the "report this vendor" link that you will find on their page and include as much information as possible about the situation, however you will not receive a refund as the order is not in escrow. When you finalise you are telling the system that the order has been received and everything is as advertised.

Very sorry to hear that you have lost money but that is unfortunately the risk that buyers take when they leave the protection of the escrow system - escrow is there for your protection.

Locking this as there is nothing more that can be done in this instance apart from reporting the vendor if you have an issue with them.
