I've been waiting for the 2nd portion of a large order (can't have the entire order shipped at once through Customs) and was planning on Auto-Finalizing even if the 2nd portion didn't arrive on time (I have tracking, but it takes awhile for shipping from that country). I have the 1st portion, the vendor seems very good and I would NEVER Auto-Finalize. However, I haven't been able to log on for a couple of days now when trying to log on to Finalize. It will Auto-Finalize tomorrow if I can't catch it before then. If it Auto-Finalizes while SR is down, can I have this reversed? I have perfect stats and I want them to remain so. Thanks in advance.

SR turned off auto-finalize for the time being so no worries.

This is correct - autofinalize has been disabled while the site is under attack.

While it is true that the A-F system is down, the process should appear to be normal..... from the buyers prospective that is.... not the vendors.
I will try to explain.....
We know that vendors are not receiving their contractually owed funds.
But this is in no way indicative of what happens on the flip-side of the coin.
Funds should still appear to A-F, from the buyers point of view (literally in this case)..... that is, if one could actually view the site/transaction.
So...... if we could all access our accounts and simply look......
Buyers will see a Complete Auto-Finalized Transaction.
However - Vendors will see "Processing". No one knows how long this new "Processing" stage will take.... but we are up to 5 days ... and counting.... so that's 22 days for A-F so far :(
I think that it is Extremely narrow-minded and in bad taste for anyone to say "Don't worry, they just turned it off"..... even temporarily.... under any circumstances.
Think about it this way for just a second......
The auto-finalization process is THE fundamental process to the workings of SR.... PERIOD.
This is the only thing that protects both buyer and seller in a monetary sense...... we are not talking about any privacy issue/s here.... just money.
Every buyer and seller whom uses this service does so by agreeing to these contractual obligations..... lets face it.... no money.... no SR.... simple.
That is the basis of the whole platform.... and without it, the whole house of cards will fall.
It's as sure as physics.
This is something that should NEVER be "Turned Off" !! And the fact that it has (by all reports), is a horrifying suggestion...... not something that anyone should find comfort in.
I say "Suggestion", because these reports have not been confirmed.... by anyone.
In the past, SR admin have been extremely diligent to warn us about scams etc. via the SR mail system.
If the above was in fact true (A-F being turned off), one would presume that all vendors would receive advice regarding this dramatic change of policy.
ALL current users would also need to be informed. Of course not legally (LOL), but in any sense of good business.... at the very least.
I do not feel the need to assure you that no such correspondence was ever received... or even sent.
The above info may offer you no answer... but I hope it has offered some solid information.... after all, that's all we want.
I only hope that systems are returned to normal ASAP... and I wish DPR and his crew every success.... I have a lot of money on the line.
All we can do is hold our breath, cross out fingers and ride out the storm.
There are only 2 outcomes. Win or Lose.....
Good luck to us all,
Max@OG
