Title: PIN RESET
Post by: Alkemist869 on April 12, 2013, 06:20 am
I'm using someones laptop and i had the cap lock on when entering my pin at the checkout. I had just changed my pin(and password) as suggested before i made my first deposit so i burned my attempts up putting in the old and new. So now i have to wait 72 hours to reset! my bitcoins already lost 1/2 their value from when i bought them and if the trend continues i'm gonna lose even more. Is there someway to get my pin reset speeded up? can it be unlocked so i can place an order? I don't know how much the support staff can see but they could verify that i was typing the right keys for my pin, just the caps was on. I use only numbers for my pin and on my computer i always use the number pad so caps lock doesn't screw me up. If num lock isn't on then the cursor jumps around the page when you hit the keys. HELP! I want to get an order in before my 0.63 bitcoins ends up being worth 0.63 cents! 72 hours is a really long time to wait.

You can post in the Customer Support section and ask, but I'm pretty sure you're just gonna have to wait.

You will need to wait the stated amount of time.  There is no way to get around this - and it is actually for the safety of your account.

Thanks for the replies. I know its for my own safety but it is just such a long time. I know to keep us anonymous that you don't collect personal info, but how about a security question system to reset the pin like other websites use. I guess there is some security flaw with that that I'm unaware of. But the current, just wait 3 days and its reset has an obvious flaw that if ?I'm in jail and someone hacks my account they just have to wait the three days to get a new pin. For lost/forgotten pins that would be ok, but I just typed wrong. Maybe to prevent this from happening to someone else can the message that comes up and says "incorrect pin you have three attempts left..." also say "make sure cap lock is off"? I've made this mistake before logging in somewhere and that message popped up and sure enough, it was the caps lock.

Now will i get a new pin or will my pin be the same?
