Earlier today (about 7 hours ago) I withdrew funds from my SR account to my wallet (2.44 btcs). My wallet recognized the transaction, but still has zero confirmations. This seemed unusual so I asked the btc community here: [removed to preserve anonymity] .
After some discussion it was decided that the sender (you guys) should "re-broadcast" the transaction to the bitcoin network, as my wallet client knows about the transaction but the rest of the network has no record of it.
I assume you can validate that the transaction ID you processed does not exist in the block chain (Transaction ID: 2176854c0ed2e2a8e6c2f4aeb429e4548452ba59088cc63ff36634cdeae062a4).
I sent these bitcoins to SR last night (my time), then they were refunded after I tried to make a purchase (but did not have the required purchasing stats). I withdrew them early this afternoon, and since then I have been trying to figure out where the coins went. I understand that glitches and bugs might exist in the bitcoin system beyond your control, but this has been quite an inconvenience (time and money). I hope we can figure this out as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,
ProfOak

First of all, you should not be linking to your thread on the clearnet. If LE were interested, they would now be able to associate your bitcointalk forum account with your IP and now with your identity here on SR. Very, very not smart thing to do.
Also, sometimes there are delays. You need to wait 12-24 hours and if you still don't have your bitcoins, then send a message to SR Support from the main site and they will look into it.
-
Thanks for the advise! Link removed.
SR Support "was last seen: 15 days ago" ....
Is there any other info I should add/remove from this support request?
-
SR Support doesn't actually show when they're online, I don't think. Also, even if they don't send you a response, they can still address the issue and fix it without responding.
-
I choose to put my trust into the btc system, but it's unnerving when you don't see transactions confirmed in the block chain...how long should I expect this withdrawal to take? I’m a noob but this seems like a long time for a bitcoin transaction to clear.
-
I am having the same issue. Don't stress, give it 12-24 hours and then message SR if there is still issues. They may take there time, but believe me they will rectify the situation. Yet to have an issue.
For a monopoly (practically) and a large vendor base site they still do what they can to keep everyone happy.
Plus the mods on here are absolutely fantastic in their prompt responses.

As stated, when transactions are experiencing a delay, the best thing to do is wait and if you don't see the coins in 24 hours, send SR Support a message from the main site.

Thanks for the info and peace of mind. Cheers!
-
Yep, same issue here. Been 6+ hours. Wallet reports amount but no confirm - and no comfirms on blockchain.
-
I had the same problem last night; it's now about 18 hours since and still showing no confirmations..the withdrawal shows on my account page of SR and it has arrived in the wallet but has not yet started to confirm. Is there a way to reverse the withdrawal or otherwise recover these? I will wait another day or so but if nothing what should I do? Many thanks to anyone with answers :)
-
Issue is on SR's end I believe. Send message there. I'm having the same problem. Sent SR staff message about 10 hours ago. No reply yet.
-
You may not receive a response. You will probably just receive the coins.
-
I am also missing a withdrawal
withdrawal ฿-142.00 ฿0.95 April 1, 2013, 11:01 pm UTC
Peace

Fred - Get in touch with Vendor Support. :)
-
Myself also: still sitting at 0 of 6 18 hours later.. :'(
-
There's no reason to be sad - the coins aren't lost, they're just moving slowly or stuck somewhere. Send SR Support a message over on the main site.

This sites a scam, its all going to hell.

thank you Scout :)
-
Phew! 20 hours and just saw the first confirmation. Anyone who's waiting, it's just a matter of time. Don't worry!
-
that's good to hear, I'm still waiting at hour 23. i got the address correct, it's just not confirming. i sent a msg to support just now; i hope it's just a backlog problem and that the coins haven't become irrecoverable..others please advise if your coins start to confirm..thanks again
-
I can't really complain considering my coins are 15-20% more valuable than when I sent them :)
-
I wonder if people withdrawing today are going to experience the same issue.
Be nice to know what the issue is to begin with.

I'll see you on DPR's yacht this weekend scout as we all sail off into the sunset BTC billionaires ;D
-
I too am missing a withdrawal, but mine isn't even showing up in the blockchain.
I didn't get the address wrong, and I sent a support request earlier this afternoon.
-
Yes, that is the usual issue. Things are delayed. If you haven't received your coins tomorrow, then send another message, but flooding them with messages isn't going to speed up the process.

withdrawal ฿-*.** ฿0.00 April *, 2013, *:** ** UTC
You guys really need to wisen up. You just posted the amount (large enough to have fewer others like it) and time (down to the minute) of an SR withdraw. Come on people, THINK!
-
The only thing you could possibly get from that information is a wallet address....which is anonymous. So as long as you keep your public wallet and SR wallet separate, you'd be good right?
-
Past 27 hours and blockchain still reports 0 confirmations and wallet also.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"Unless you are very careful in the way you use Bitcoin (and you have the technical know-how to use it with other anonymizing technologies like Tor or i2p), you should assume that a persistent, motivated attacker will be able to associate your IP address with your bitcoin transactions.”

i just passed 48 hours and still nothing, contacted sr support 20hrs ago and yet still nothing.

Okay, no need to panic. Send another message.
-
I'm still waiting now at 36hrs..should i send another msg or is it too late? :(

I withdrew bitcoins from my account to blockchain on April 1, 2013 (around 6PM EST) and still not even one confirmation at my destination wallet address and I am 100% certain that I sent it to the correct address (my wallet).
My account is now missing Bitcoins and there is no transaction currently visible on the bitcoin network at blockchain.info within the past 36 hours sending bitcoins to my address. My withdrawal transaction was either never relayed or something expired. I am 100% certain that I sent it to that address and Silk Road even confirmed that it was "sent". Can you please help me determine what happened? Is there a transaction ID? Do we have any confirmations?
:'(
-
that's precisely what happened to me. still at 0 of 6 confirmations 36 hrs later..
i noticed that the bc network announced a shutdown of the system on april 1 due to a possible security breach and that they advised ppl not to send coins after 4pm april 1. of course i didn't see this message before withdrawing mine off SR. i hope this is the source of the problem, i note that almost all of us waiting for confs were april 1 transactions..we'll see with fingers crossed
-
Same for me.
Coins withdrawn 48 hours ago, no record in the blockchain
Getting worried.
-
I transferred a small amount of btc from SR to my wallet from two different accounts yesterday (36+ hours ago) and neither of the transfers have hit my wallet :( I did the transfers very close together, and they were the first withdrawals I'd made from either account. Since then I've made two withdrawals from one of those accounts to the very same wallet and both have been confirmed in just over an hour? I messaged SR Support (who are awesome) saying "5 hours ago I transferred btc and no confirmation is this normal", they replied 21 hours later "please allow 24 hours to pass, we've been having some slowness but everyone's coin is getting through". 26 hours had already passed.... I'm not worried, SR always makes these things right, but one of the benefits of btc is meant to be its instantaneous nature. I don't mind waiting a bit for security reasons, but obviously this is more of a technical issue. Hope everyone gets their coin ASAP!
-
Same here well past 36 hour mark.
Let's get it done SR support.
-
same here, still nothing and no response from SR support. Getting worried also..am glad I didn't withdraw more or I'd really be stressed
if there are others with same problem please let us know and if those who have stuck coins get them free somehow can you also let us know? thx all
-
yepp still waiting
-
has anyone had any problems transferring in?
-
Hello For me it has been 16 hours since i made a withdrawal and the coins have not still not appeared in my blockchain wallet - blockchain does not show the transaction and there is no reference number on sr associated with the transaction - i think i might have hit the withdrawal button too many times. Does that mean it is cued up for a manual transfer? Its the first time I have taken money out of my account - its a buyers account.
I sent 3 messages to customer support - I sent the first message to them 12 hours ago and I have still not heard back. What to do next ??
It was only about 8 btc but I am in dire need of the money --- just as much as everyone else here lol. Is there light at the end of this tunnel ??!!

So, both April 1st and April 2nd there were delays. It's an official issue. By now, there should be a DPR post about it to acknowledge the issue at least.
Still at 0 confirms and holding.
I wonder what causes these issues. The tumbler? They seem to happen quarterly.
-
Yeah this is getting crazy, i sent support a message yesterday and still nothing, i checked my outbox and the vendor support changed names to "Dread Pirate Roberts"? No official statement regarding this mass withdraw outage? Has the ponzi scheme caught up? too much withdraw not enough deposits? this is how it all starts. So to re-cap, vanishing act by support, no official statement, noone receiving there money, bitcoin has multiplied by 5x within the month...slow but steady liquidation of our coins? not sure, this one will go down in the books people, tony76? that was a joke compared to this one. Lock your doors and shut your windows when you finally break down screaming and cursing.
-
If I'm understanding it properly, assuming nothing has actually gone wrong on SR, the most likely explanation is that you don't pay the transfer processing fee and none of the miners have picked them up yet. Unsurprising considering the price increase and the number of the things that I suspect are whizzing around.
If I'm guessing right, then if this demand keeps up then SR will probably have to offer people the option to pay the fee, just to get the transactions processed.
It doesn't explain why support is so silent though, so perhaps I'm completely off base and they are hiding something. /me goes and gets my tinfoil hat
