Title: Problem with withdrawal
Post by: perfectharmony on March 25, 2013, 02:33 pm
Hey!

I made two withdrawals, one in thursday and one in friday when the first one hadnt arrived on my wallet and I'm in dire need of it..

The part that is confusing me and making me really sad is that it is registred on blockchain, but as of today I'm still broke as hell and can't even pay my rent!

What can have happend?

I have used bitcoin for almost a year and this is the first time this have happend, soooo confused and sad..

Sometimes the withdrawals are slow or get stuck, in which case you need to send a message to SR Support over on the main site.  They'll look into it and make sure your withdrawal gets processed.  :)  Don't be sad - your coins aren't lost!

I made 2 withdrawals (User furgano) and both show up in my providers wallet but are since 24 hours with 0 confirmation.

For the 1000 time, please contact SR support.

Sure, go ahead and contact support, but they can't help you if the transaction went through but has 0 confirmations.  That's a Bitcoin issue, and it's due to the transaction fee paid being insufficient (or less than desired), so the miners ignore the transaction and treat it like it doesn't exist.  So it gets broadcasted occasionally over and over until some miner who doesn't mind processing it says "sure," and does it even though the fee is either 0 or lower than a certain threshold.

SR needs to increase the fee it pays if it wants transactions to go through reliably and within a few hours of initial broadcast, otherwise as transactions on the Bitcoin network continue to grow, these problems will become more and more common.

You raise a REALLY good point SS, i strongly suspect many of the delays are due to insufficient BTC fees being paid as it goes!

Interesting, im actually considering spending a few grand on a mining rig. I withdraw about 400-700 a day and just recently its been taking a fuck load longer then usual. Im over the "lost my coins" phase and have re-vived my SR withdrawal faith, mods here on the forums kick ass day in - day out. I have a feeling that they have something to do with the withdrawals getting pushed through as soon as i mention it an hour or two later i get me coins. Thanks for the dedication SCOUT and SAMESAMEBUTDIFFERENT

Dude, don't say that shit... you're condemning them to being pestered by every newbie who reads that.  They've sent emergency letters to DPR and had it take half a fucking week before he even got back to them with a form letter and not a real answer, too -- which doesn't make sense if they have something to do with it getting pushed through faster.

Support takes days to respond, not a couple hours.  There's a design flaw that to my knowledge we haven't come to a consensus on yet.  There's a limited number of transactions that can be processed per second using the current Bitcoin protocol.  It's easily changed and I'm sure it will be changed soon, but currently, we're bumping up against the limit.  Hence, free or low-fee transactions are often taking a very long time.  Luck of the draw.

Just to be clear, neither scout or I have absolutely nothing to do with withdrawals getting pushed through faster. In fact you are wasting your time posting on the forums at all as the only people who can help you is SR support.

Hello, it has been 15 hours since i made a withdrawal and the coins have not still not appeared in my external wallet - blockchain does not show the transaction and there is no reference number on sr associated with the transaction - i think i might have hit the withdrawal button too many times. Does that mean it is cued up for a manual transfer? Its the first time I have taken money out of my account - its a buyers account.

I sent 3 messages to customer support - I sent the first message to them 12 hours ago and I have still not heard back. I am sooo worried !! Please help !!

SR support are the only ones who can help you, they also get slowed down when people send them multiple messages asking the same questions over and over.

My advice would be to CHILL out, go and have a cup of tea, do something non SR related and come back in a few hours and see if you have had a response.

DPR has already made an announcement about this - there are serious delays, so please stay calm and be patient.
