I have heard about a phishing scam on theHiddenWiki and other scams and how can i be sure that I am indeed at TSR before I try to login?
-
There is only one correct URL:
silkroadvb5piz3r.onion
-
I always follow the link from inside Gwern.net's writeup
-
Memorize it, only way to be 100% every time.
-
You're not currently at the right Silkroad. This is a huge honeypot. Wipe your hard drive and flee the country while you still can.
-
I always follow the link from inside Gwern.net's writeup
That's slightly risky. What if it were compromised?
I recommend memorizing the correct address.
-
Just break it down in your memory.
silkroad
vb5
piz
3r
.onion
It's easy to remember then :)
-
Whats wrong with a good old bookmark?
-
what princess said. i cant even forget it anymore. silkroad, vb5 (like visual basic 5) piz3r (like pizza), do u like some onion on ur pizza? :D
-
That is the same way i remember it too, thought I was being weird when I was thinking of visual basic and the pizza, but it worked for me!
50 posts, out of this hell hole now!

yep, just memorize it; silkroadvb5piz3r, it's so much easier to remember than any other deep web URL i've seen.
Also, if when you get to the login page it asks for you PIN (like the link that has been on the Hidden Wiki for a while), you're definitely not on the good site.
stay safe.
-
Yea I agree never ever enter your pin on the login site.
-
just memorize it, the easiest and safest. And what above said, you never need to enter your pin at the login page.
-
You have to memorize it
-
memorize the url and you will be at the right spot all the time
-
It is really simple, just keep the one you are sure is the real URL encrypted on your computer or even just saved on your computer....just having a link to the website means nothing in a "worst case scenario" and then just copy and paste the one you have saved directly into your browser.

The best option is to get a t-shirt printed with the address in big letters across the front.
It's like a hipster thing. You don't even know what it means. You just thought it was a cool t-shirt.

i haven't yet had the pleasure of accessing the silkroad yet but i installed TOR on my comp and set my firewall to allow it access and have tried numerous times with the URL: silkroadvb5piz3r.onion and keep getting the Problem loading page message with the *site could be temporarily unavailable or busy. try again in a few moments message. is it just me or is it just down today???
-
I memorized the url. Plus like everyone else has said, the login will never ask for a pin.
