Title: Priv Note as an alternative to PGP
Post by: NinHao on February 27, 2013, 04:26 am
Hello to all!

Noob question here, so please be nice.  I noticed a few vendors using privnote as an alternative to PGP encryption.  I just wanted to know if there were any of you who have tried this method of encryption.  It is totally web based, and user friendly.

For more experienced roaders out there, if you can chime in on the pros and cons of using this method, that would be awesome too!

Thanks in advanced!

Ahhh!!!

Never mind! After I posted this question, I did a search on privnotes.  Seems the general consensus is "hell to the naw!!!"  I have read everything that it is ran by the govt as well as it is run by some shady untrustworthy organization.  So, PGP it is..

Well, I may have answered my own question, but feel free to provide more insight if you have any.

You will figure itout and get it working for sure !

And about buying an another computer, i dont think it's necessary  or At least put a PENGUIN in it ;-)  meaning Linux.

You could also try  Linux LiveCD's   check  puppy linux http://puppylinux.org

Tried from command-line/shell ?  I use it only from there   'gpg --help' is a start.    and i'm noob with it but it dosn't seem too hard.

Well  Good Luck !!!
