Title: Help with Privnote and the Tor network
Post by: Indubitably on February 23, 2013, 08:04 pm
Whenever someone sends me a privnote and I attempt to open it up, it always says that the note has already been read and has been destroyed. Is this something to do with reading them on the tor browser?

Thanks

Privnote runs on Java.  Try to reinstall your Java apps.  That said I have never been able to read a privnote from tor but I can write them... when I try to read one it acts there is no note there to read (does not say destroyed it is just blank).  I had the problem you describe outside of tor and it was fixed when java was updated.  Hope that helps.

Instead of using privnote - which is not secure - learn PGP.  It is easy to use and much, MUCH safer.
