Normally under 'Account' on SR there is a section which shows your current BTC address and a link to get a new one.
Now I'm seeing a link that says "Click here to make a deposit" - which takes me to a site telling me to update my PIN and giving me a BTC address which is apparently unchangeable.
Anyone else seeing this? Any word from Admin about this change?
Just like to be kept in the loop. Couldn't find any other post about this on the forums.

My "Account" page looks normal --- there is no "click here to make a deposit" at all.
What is the URL showing exactly?
It sounds like something that would happen if you had been phished ... like if you accessed SR via a fake / bad link.
-
I'm at this URL: http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/account
everything else seems normal...
-
I'm there as well but it looks exactly the way it always has. ???
To be safe, maybe you ought to change your password ...
-
yeah I just logged into another SR account that I had made a while back and it still has the normal heading where it says
"to deposit bitcoins, send them to this address:" followed by a BTC addy
but my main account still has the new heading... definitely giving me a phishy vibe. I'll change my password for now and see if anything happens with it in the near term future...
thanks for the help
-
Yeah, it sounds very much like something phishing-related, though I don't understand how that could be because the link you posted looks exactly right. Strange.
I went ahead and sent off a message to the admins and DPR to let them know what you were seeing. Definitely go ahead and change your password. Maybe even logout and then try logging back in -- see if it's still there.
-
thanks for reaching out to admin for me
I don't see how it could be phishing either, there hasn't been an instance of me providing this password elsewhere - I always type the SR .onion address from memory
-
this is the message that shows after I click the link which is in place of the usual listing of BTC address:
"Warning: Read this before making a deposit to your account
Your PIN is required to make purchases, withdraw funds from your account, and make important changes to your account. If you forget your PIN, or give it away to a phishing site impersonating Silk Road, any funds you deposit to your account will be irretreivable.
Before depositing any funds, you should change your PIN and password on your SETTINGS page. If you are unable to change them because you've already forgotten them, you must create a new account and try again.
Once you are ready, send your deposit to this address:"
...followed by a BTC address with no option to generate a new one.
hopefully this is just something new they're working on rolling out on the site - thanks in advance for any insight that may arise on this

Is anyone else seeing this? As I mentioned, I did ask DPR and inigo - but haven't yet heard back from either of them. It's just strange because I'm not seeing that on my account page at all ...
-
I should also add that where it says SETTINGS in all caps, that is a hyperlink to the correct URL on SR for editing account settings.
and I know it's weird that only some users would experience this while others aren't.
so far one other user has PM'd me saying he is experiencing something similar, but can't post here because he's still new.
however, like I said, I checked a different SR account that I happen to have, and it is still in the old / normal configuration, as yours apparently is scout.
-
Well, I've messaged the admins again. I'd like to be able to tell you / everyone for sure whether or not this is a new feature (as opposed to a hack or phishing attempt).
-
Mine is still the same as it always has been. I've not re-logged in since yesterday (i know, i shouldn't leave it open-but I had a good reason, promise!) so I couldn't tell you if this was a new thing...but it seems that if it were a new change, there would be a lot more posts about it.
hmm...I personally wouldn't do a damn thing until I heard from DPR himself.
Keeping tabs on this thread to see what happens

Heard back from DPR and those are indeed new changes that he has implemented.
Here is an announcement as well:
