What's the best bitcoin wallet to use nowadays? I haven't done any business around here for a few months so I'm a bit out of the loop. And I know websites sometimes turn into scams, so I just wanna triple check. I usually use my own wallet on my computer but it's taking FOREVER to download and time is money.

Blockchain.info has pretty good uptime. Overall it is pretty user-friendly I think. YMMV.
-
I like instawallet alot but mostly because I don't leave my coins in there for too long.

I was going to say blockchain.info ... but they have been down for 3 hours tonight with no word from the owner or support. :\

Holy shit. I used them yesterday and it worked great. It seems they're back up though!

ive been using electrum for a couple of weeks, so far its been very fast and works well.
the main reason im trying it is because it doesnt download like 3 gb of data each time.
im testing it with only small amounts to begin with (pocket change)

100% Electrum.
Cross-platform (runs on Android), doesn't download the blockchain, brainwallets...
Too risky using a hosted wallet. I like to have control of my own coins.

I just tried the Android install and the very last qr code came up "404 NOT FOUND" If anybody know of another path to that file let me know.

Did you scan it from within SL4A? I just tried it to upgrade to the latest release and it worked for me.

I just re-downloaded the latest SL4A, Python for Android, and Electrum. Then I used a QR code from within Electrum flawlessly. You must initiate the QR code from within Electrum, can't just use the default barcode scanner app.

when I open SL4A and try to use the scanner the app shuts down. I followed everything to the letter. Not sure what the deal is.
My device is Samsung Galaxy Notepad2 android 4.1.1

Extremely glad I fond this thread. +1 to OP if I could :)

The Device is irrelevant. The OS is compatible. Try uninstall all barcode scanning apps from your phone then reinstall the latest default barcode scanner app and see if that fixes it.
