Someone who tricks you and steals your money, for example, would be a scammer.

A scumbag that marked "in transit" half an hour after purchase, never shipped and refunded you half and acted like he was doing you a fucking FAVOR.

You're full on retarded if you pay for a 50% reship.

Back in my days on the SR... If the package didn't make it, it was a free reship guaranteed, or a 100% (minus escrow fees) refund. This idea of shared risk is BULLSHIT. If the package didn't make it, and the address was labeled correctly, then its completely on the vendor's head. The vendor fucked up and should suffer the consequences of their shitty packaging/dirty fingers/gloves leaving a trace amount for the dogs to pick up.

But hey, what can ya do?

Aussie customs stepped up, so they're a special case imo.

so a scammer is a betrayer, a thief.
someone who tries to rip you off.
thanks.

@ trappy :

i fully agree to what you say !

thats how it works in standard deals, too (standard deals means so called legal deals).
of course, noone as the sender has to bear the sending risk. he could use registered mail
to be on the safe side.

why should this be different here ?
i see no reason.

it is a clear preferential treatment for the sellers.
i think, this makes quite a number of possible customers shy away from this marketplace.

i agree : shared risk is bullshit.
