You know what, you are absolutely right. Please contact an admin, this needs to end. I hadn't put much thought into it, but now that i have, i can see a mods power here is severely limited, which is why this problem is hard to tackle. I think at this point we need actual power(management) engaging the community to solve the problem, because as it is, nothing is working, and the newbie forum backlash is no fun. We need to implement a few word bans, and account bans. We also need to deputize a few more hero members into mod staff that maraud around the forums in shifts so we always have a mod on duty. We need the forums to be as well oiled as the main site, because this is truly the second resource a member will turn to if they can't find something on the main site. More so than the wiki. This forum should be what it was designed to be and how it functioned before i got here, along with the hordes. Careful policy changes that aren't harmful will only be good for everyone

This guy seems to be a little more black humour than you guys are making it out to be. I haven't seen this guy truly spam, he may be bitter at times, but honestly i find his input useful and refreshing
Edit: when he isn't making his semi-spam joke about giving him btc that is

I don't mind his so-called "humour" but what I *do* mind is the fact that he knows good and well that there are people new to the forums who don't understand his "joke" about giving him btc.

This can be resolved with a simple change in administrative privileges for mods.
If there is unambiguous spamming or scamming, then mods should have the power to ban the username. Make it so.

Yes this has been an under discussion topic between admin/mods for awhile now.
I'm sure that if say only 1 mod was given the privilege that they could understand that it is to be used for scamspam only.
See my current logic says bring moksha back as a spam buster with this privilege and go back to being the spam disposal member, if moksha wants to do that and would only have to basically look out for the spam in the newbie "bottleneck"section and eradicate it in the control section.
Personally to me the newbie section is useless without it's own forum staff member to run defense against the spamming.
Seems common sense to me.
I'll run it by DPR next week.

Thank you friend. Also we need to start a donation thread in all forums for DDOSing the spammers. Astor would probably know how to do it, plus i can just imagine the collective cheer from silk road when we all test typing in the url, and it won't load no matter what you do.

Again i nominate Astor as he has been the most technical when explaining security. It's only whether he'd mind. I'm sure he's getting sick of it too. Let's bring these fuckers down, i want it to cost them money to keep that server up under that load, while no one can reach the site. Then i want them to spend money on DDOS protection, and then we DDOS them harder. Doxxing them wouldn't be a bad idea either
