Hi,
I can't post in the Newbie discussion anymore, but spread this update please:
The Virwex scam spam has muddled through and now creeps up on all forums again. SR/DPR will have to go another way to stop this annoyance.
The 50 post limit is useless in this fight now.
SR/DPR will have to come up with a new defense.

Why would he ask you to post that here? that's absurd. It's not like its a news flash that nobody else can see. :/

No, it isn't useless -- thanks to the 50 post requirement, we were able to keep the spam completely off of the rest of the forums last night in spite of the spammers hitting particularly hard. Since we can't be on 24/7, there will be times (like this morning) when the spam builds up a bit, but as soon as one of us is able to, we delete it and ban the spammer. It's now all cleaned up.

Actually scout, I hate to say it, but that's NOT true. While I logged on last night, I saw EVERY board was covered in spam and the account that had spammed it had used nearly 3 pages of the newbie discussion forum to be able to post in the general forum.
I created this account so I could post in the newb forum and offer help since they were all spamming pointless posts themselves to get their 50. I figured they may as well get some help if they're gonna be posting like rabbits hump. Another mod must've come in and cleaned it up before you saw it, but it was bad.
Don't get me wrong, I back you're decisions 100%, but it's not as effective as you would like to believe. :/
