If you're going to make some bandaid newbie forum at least make it only apply to NEW MEMBERS.

Or maybe restrict it to 10 posts? 50 is asking a lot.
This is a crock of shit. I paid to become a vendor and pay my 'vendor tax'. I should have full use of the forum.

I thought there was a 'SR Vendor' status on the forums? Meaning you could post in any board category even if your post count is at 1. Might be wrong, try to contact one of the moderators like Scout, or one of the administrators.

Yes that is interesting. Apparently many vendors were not informed that there is a 'vendor' status on the forums. I'm still waiting for my message about that but whatevs. SR is great. This is an inconvenience but hey, if you need viagra, come see me! (link in signature)

Yeah, this shit is getting on my nerves too. Your best bet for now would be contacting one of the moderators/administrators about that 'SR Vendor' status. They should of informed everyone of this sudden change before even implementing it. Maybe they are still working on it, who knows.
Getting really tired of spamming with useless posts though, I want to be part of the active community and contribute with logical posts, yet I am left here to spam like a 5-year old until I reach 50 posts. :-\

Surely vendors should be exempt from the requirement. They pay 'n shit. This really has inspired me to be more outgoing and post more crap. I will be heading straight to the DPR bookclub once I get my stripes.

This is frustrating alright. I can't even post in my own review thread (which is very quiet anyway!!) now that this rule came in. I don't feel like spamming just to get my post count up :(

I shouldn't have used speed 6hrs before I have to get up for work. Luckily I have this post count thing to keep me busy.

This new post restriction sucks, I've been a Blargh's reliable reviewer and made many reviews in the past and now can't post my new reviews about the bud I've received today in the correct forums until I have 50 posts.. wtf!

The 50 post requirement is necessary in order to give us time to catch and delete spam and spam accounts before they can spam the rest of the forums. If you are a vendor, you should send a PM to inigo (one of the admins) and ask to be let in to the Vendor Forum. You have to have 35+ transactions, but once you're in, you should be able to post wherever you want to on the forums.

Guess this is what separates SR from other boards. SR is still up and running so they must be doing something right.

It was implemented yesterday afternoon/evening, and so far has helped immensely with the bitcointalks/virwex scammers because we're usually able to catch it before they reach 50 posts (which means catching it before they're able to spam the entire forum).

Are forum accounts linked to sr accounts in some way so forum admins could know who vendors are (automatically)?

that's life fellas, frankly, this is making me not want to be on the SR forums as I'm a lazy fuck when it comes to spamming. I'd rather have quality posts, oh well.

I believe it is now 55+ transactions.
I applied under profile->group membership a few days ago and then sent a PM to inigo for good measure. Hopefully I'll be able to post to all of the forums once my access is granted. Since this is new I suppose it is possible I'll have access to the vendor forum but not post there in which case it is hopefully just a matter of inigo or whoever getting everything configured right.

That would be nice, but since anyone can register under any name, it's possible that someone unrelated to the vendor could register with the vendor's username here on the forums. Plus, in order to make sure that a vendor isn't a scammer and isn't LE, we require 35+ transactions of selling illicit goods/services on SR before letting a vendor into the Vendor forum. If a vendor has 35+ transactions, all that he/she needs to do is send a PM to inigo or one of the other admins and ask to be let in. The admins will then make the decision.

I suppose one upside to this is that I'm learning more about the general working of SR. Always interesting to know.

As a new vendor, I don't want or need access to the private vendor forums just yet (There should be access restrictions there) but maybe a "New Vendor" group that is allowed to post in "product offers", "product requests", and "rumor mill" is in order to allow new vendors the opportunity to advertise their services until they reach the 35 or 55 sales required for the vendor forum.

While I do agree it sucks, the administrators surely know best when it comes to ensuring the longevity of the road. Been a member for a long time now, but I mostly just lurk + the occasional review. Time to get that post count up!

I agree I am a new vendor WEED INDEED, and I can't post where I need to. I aid for my acccount and cant even get to the vendor forum so I can get the bestt help. It makes for week links.

It is a bit of a retarded rule, especially when you can't even respond to threads you've started in the general boards before the rule was implemented.
At the same time, it has got rid of all the spam, surely there is a better way though?

50 posts does seem like a lot, but supposedly it helps SR stop spam...So I guess we have to deal with it!
