dudes, calm down. it's clearly a tech malfunction, as everyone is having different images and recurrences. I haven't seen anything, for example.
give the mods/IT folk time to figure it out and fix it.

oh! hahaha ... i don't see that at all. i still see my blue bars and my avatar! you, on the other hand, have 5 of those "dank nugs dun" avatars above your usual! :D

Just about everyone has the same avatar in my view: a big red square w/ lettering GIVE BLOOD PLAY RUGBY.
Someone else said they have 'faces' w/ lipstick. I have the emotcon for a hug. Also captchas are way different; new font, different spacing, combo of bold and unbold. Also every post is flagged as having been reported to a mod in my view. Woo hoo! We might be getting an upgrade!!

Not a glitch - we did get a new version - now have SMF 2.0.3 (scroll all the way down to bottom of page ... maybe some of the spam will go away now :)

yesterday I saw a picture of a face or some shit where the "report to moderator" button is on each post
it has since went away and everything is back to normal for me.

This is a glitch only admin can fix.
I didnt have it til i tried to change my avatar now I have a image directory glitch.
It needs to be reset.
I assume the glitch is when the security patch was updated the avatar upload directory went to the default attachments directory which i believe is limited or full.
It needs to be changed to a specific directory for uploaded avatars.

Apparently if you lose your avatar a quick fix is to resize the image so that the longest side is only 64 pixels....thanx to jpinkman how ever he figured that out....all hail the mighty avatar.

I'm extremely puzzled by this... I'm currently seeing all "grin" smileys as a white circular pill (it's the avatar of Muslix, which probably doesn't matter, but I do recognize it). But the URL is correct: "http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/Smileys/default/grin.gif". The optional text if it's not able to be displayed is correct also (it's 'grin'). The file content is jpg though, not gif (it's a .gif file, but if the data has a jpeg MIME type then I'd expect any UNIX-like machine to serve it as a jpeg properly -- meaning that's as expected too). But the data is just wrong.
All the other smileys are fine. Exact same url construction: "http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/Smileys/default/undecided.gif". Exact same correct alternate text ("Undecided" in that one's case). How exactly is the default grin smiley being served as a user's avatar, but with the proper text description + filename, for me -- and only me (apparently)...? If it's everyone, or intermittent, that's at least a conceivable database thing I could see happening. But for only me, and every single instance of a grin smiley, repeatedly...? Or only some users repeatedly...? How is that even possible unless the database is currently being migrated and my PHPSESSID is using the same cached value or something...?
So any other ideas from anyone?

This is a result of an update to the SMF software running the Forum, from 2.0.2 up to the 2.0.3 it's now running on. The update was last week and Admin's have been informed and are working on it. The avatar I can see on your profile is sometimes not the same avatar that you will see on your profile. It's weird but nothing to worry about at this stage. :)

One other thing SS. If you want to add an avatar, JPEG's and GIF's will both work, however, any animated GIF will need to be re-sized to a max of 53 x 53 pixels and any still image must be a max. of 65 x 65 pixels for it to upload and work. If you need help to re-size one, just let me know. :)

the image bugs are being looked at It's just takes a little time for the software to fully adapt and the forum maintenance probably;y needs a going thru when an admin gets a chance to fix any outstanding bugs.
