Rumor mill / Re: What do you think?
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:54 am »
Generally, you should be VERY careful when dealing with ANY vendor accused of being a scammer.  You should be particularly careful about NOT finalizing early.  Hopefully they didn't scam you, but if they did, unfortunately, there's not a whole lot that can be done.

And with that, I think it's time to lock this thread.

No, that shouldn't matter.

I don't think any vendor would take a chance doing this ... I also think these kinds of things / ideas are frowned upon here.

I'm sorry for whatever happened, man, but I don't think you'll find much support for this here.

Product offers / Re: Vendor Account Lottery
« on: January 16, 2013, 03:23 am »
Sorry, but this won't work.  For one thing, in order to sell anything here (including tickets) you'd need a vendor account.  If you can't afford the cost of a vendor account, how can you afford all of the other necessary things to package and ship your product securely?  How will you maintain any kind of stock?

Also, requiring FE right off the bat is not allowed for a good reason!  You can't require people to FE, and you can't even allow them to FE until you've been a vendor for a certain length of time or have a certain number of transactions.  This is for the protection of the buyers.

There's no way, either, to protect the other vendor in your scenario.

Security / Re: Best way to buy a very large amount of bitcoins?

Blue Sky Traders has a fee, but they don't call it a fee.  The amount of the fee depends on the amount of coins you buy.

You don't need to keep bumping your own thread multiple times a day.

Silk Road discussion / Re: Time to get bitcoin?
« on: January 15, 2013, 06:29 am »
Yea, looks like we are getting fucked today and our money is being held hostage by SilkRoad. That's pretty fucked up. I made arrangements and everything knowing I would have my bitcoin and now I'm totally screwed here.

Are you serious?  Our money is being "held hostage by SilkRoad"?!  Seriously?  Did you read any of the other threads about this issue?  There was a problem, so DPR suspended withdrawals and deposits while he and the other admins worked on fixing the problem.  They fixed it this afternoon, and are so flooded by support requests that things are still somewhat backed up.  Have a little patience, dude.  And no one is holding anyone's money hostage here.

You got the coins back?  (I think I saw inigo say he took care of it for you.)  If so - AWESOME NEWS!  So glad to hear that everything worked out, just like most of us knew it would.  :)

They're not ripping you off.  $95 is currently worth 6.625 btc.  They do have a 4% fee, I believe.

No, the paper wallet is not blockchain specific.  Here are some worthwhile articles to read:

Technical support / Re: Bitcoins not showing in account

Yep, they had to suspend deposits and withdrawals to fix an issue.  Everything is back up and running now, but just a little slow while SR Support and the payments catch up.
