Technical support / Re: Blockchain send anonymously help
« on: March 03, 2013, 01:54 am »
I don't think the Blockchain guys have made any kind of announcement yet, so who knows whether or not it is down permanently.  Also, in the meantime, check out Bitcoin Fog.

Yes, you should be encrypting any kind of sensitive information that you send here - especially during the order process when you are providing your shipping address.

TOR use is NOT necessary for starting an account with an exchange like Mt Gox or bitinstant ... in fact, several exchanges - just as you mentioned - have warnings about accessing your account through TOR.  Just use the clearnet for your bitcoin exchange since buying bitcoins is 100% legal.

Newbie discussion / Re: [HELP] Security Concern

I don't think you've been phished - especially if you weren't asked for your PIN.

Also, you should NOT be accessing SR at the .to address - that is for accessing it over the clearnet which you should never, never, never do!  So dangerous.

I understand - no worries, thereefers245.  :)

Technical support / Re: Missing BTC Question

Does it show up on blockchain when you put your mt gox address in the search box there?

I think that if you are up front about why you are asking, they'll be cool about it and help you out.  Unfortunately it's a little difficult to find anonymous cards that don't require your SSN to use, but there are definitely some out there.

2754
No, like research here ... as in using the search function, or maybe getting in touch with one of the other vendors who does MP-to-BTC transactions.  They're usually pretty willing to help.

2755
The short answer is :  it's a lot more complicated due to the number of MPs you'll be processing.  There are some limits, and also be aware that any funds you load to your PayPal account cannot be withdrawn without them freezing your account and yelling at you.  So you'll also want to use some prepaid cards that can load MPs ... unfortunately, most require a SSN to use ... so it's definitely complicated unless you're just doing a small number of MPs.

2756
You can try doing a search here for answers to some of those questions.

2757
Man, before you even CONSIDER becoming an MP-to-BTC vendor, you need to do a LOT more research since you (and I quote) are "not sure how the process works" ....

2758
Glad to see you back, Drippy.  Get in touch if you need anything.  :)

My advice ... your new PGP key shouldn't cause any problems - just be sure to provide it each time and if it's for a vendor you've used before, then just let them know you have a new key.  It shouldn't be an issue though because plenty of people end up needing new keys for one reason or another.

You may *want* to start a new account for the sake of simplicity since I don't think there's anything that can be done about your refund rate, and just as an additional security measure.  Totally up to you though.

Did you also report him on SR itself using the "report vendor" button?

Wow, this thread is frightening.  Are you serious about defending the guy and making excuses for him?  I don't care if it's fucking DPR himself - you do NOT ask for bank transfer as a method of payment on a site like this!  Also, the fact that he is using the same account to sell drugs and to sell btc is stupid.  Sorry to be blunt, but I wasn't expecting to see such ignorance from respected members in this thread!

The whole thing is ABSOLUTELY (and very obviously!) against the rules here, and the rules here were put in place to PROTECT buyer and seller.  DPR himself affirms this kind of thing is unacceptable.  It completely bypasses the escrow system AND involves a direct trail between buyer and seller via payment through bank transfer!!

You guys need to be wayyyyyyyyy more careful.  This kind of shit is what brings these marketplaces down.

You do remember that this is an ANONYMOUS marketplace, right?  And that that is what allows it to continue operating?
