Newbie discussion / Re: About organ donorship
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:34 am »
Actually, someone raised this point last week by trying to find a beating heart because having a beating human heart turns his girlfriend on sexually.

I told him that was obviously not allowed here, but he pushed and pushed until I sought clarification from DPR.

DPR said there is nothing against selling organs in the policy here, and he thinks it would be a wonderful thing to offer to people.

We all already knew that - the only thing you did was annoy people and make yourself look fucking insane.  No skin off of SR's back.

Security / Re: Best way to buy large amounts of BTC?

I feel like bitfloor is recommended a lot here, as are bitcopia and blue sky traders.  Do realize, however, that almost every exchange is going to charge you a fee.

If you are already operating legally and legitimately, why in the world would you want to advertise that fact here?  Bitcoin is legal, but my understanding is that selling anything here is dangerous, legally-speaking because you are participating in a criminal enterprise.  But, everyone has differing opinions on that subject, just thought it was a weird thing to advertise openly, especially when you operate on the clearnet.

Also, if you are taking 2-10% from each transaction, how in the world do you not have enough to pay for your own vendor account here?  2-10% isn't a huge profit, but it's enough to be able to afford an account here if you've been as well-respected and well-known as you claim.

Bug reports / Re: BTC went missing

I had the same "login failed" error all day yesterday.  Inigo reset the password for me, but no one has any idea why this happens.  Shrug.

Have you ever logged on to SR via a page that asks for your PIN?  You may have been phished.  :-\

The only url that is legit is:

silkroadvb5piz3r.onion

You'll need to send SR Support a message on the main site, as they are the only ones who can look into this.

If you denied knowing anything about the packages, why did you end up in jail for a week?

Without getting into specifics.. I will make an observation after watching this drama unfold the last couple of days here. A persons personal information is serious shit. I think people don't appreciate the virtues of making it a habit to always use privnote or PGP, to always be smart, to guard your identity like a hawk. One slipup could potentially throw your entire life into turmoil. I know we expose ourselves to some degree here as buyers and to some degree as vendors. But.. realize that your identity and personal information is the one thing you should always take great pains to secure. Whether you are a squeaky clean model citizen, or a monster who is always upto no good IRL. Everyone has skeletons in their closets.. and even those who don't should not for one minute think that personal info is anything to ever be lax about.

/end observation.

Very, very true post, and something not enough people seem to realize or take seriously.

Maybe I'm not being very clear -- there's nothing we can do from our end here on the forums.  If your bitcoins don't show up within 12 or so hours, you need to send a message to SR Support on the main site.  The bitcoins are NOT lost and you WILL receive them.

but has it ever happened they are like nowhere to be found at all ...i enter adress on blockchain and no memory recollection whats so ever

No, bitcoins don't just get "lost" randomly.
