Newbie discussion / Re: Vendor status
« on: April 04, 2013, 03:46 am »
Of course he does, but as you've probably noticed, there has been a lot going on around here lately, so you will just need to wait.  I'm assuming you've already received the refund of your vendor bond?

Newbie discussion / Re: PLEASE HELP WITH BITINSTANT MONEY TRANSFER
« on: April 04, 2013, 03:42 am »
There is currently an issues with bitcoin processing and SR DPR has been posting updates here:
http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=142356.0
I know this isn't really related but can anyone think of a reason that after I attempted a withdrawal from SR  today to one of my other accounts and after I did so a transaction showed up in the block chain from that account dated the 22nd of March sending the same amount I withdrew to two accounts I have never heard of. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

I'm not sure I'm understanding your post, but this thread has to do with Bitinstant, and your issue is with SR.  The transaction going to two accounts you have never heard of is typical of how the built-in bitcoin tumbler works, and how it shows on blockchain.

ive been trying to contact bitintstant but i cant seem to log on to my tormail email, ive read on forums that people are having trouble with tormail for the past couple days. do you think its wise for me to contact bitinstant with a regular email address? not tormail.

You should be fine contacting them from a regular email address, or even by calling them, if necessary.  They'll need to know the specifics of the transaction in order to assist you though.

I understand where you are coming from, and appreciate your levelheaded post and response.  Things have been hectic lately, but once everything calms down, who knows what will change, or how our community will evolve.  If you wanted a direct response from higher up, your best option would be to send Vendor Support a message over on the main site.  (but, as you know, there's a lot going on right now so I can't guarantee a response.)

Security / Re: Just got this on SR, another scam?

This is absolutely a scam.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

I see that the post was deleted, but I don't know why, and it definitely wasn't me.  That said, it would not be the moderators who would address the policy - moderators are here on the forums to answer questions, watch for scams, and delete spam, but we don't have any say in the policies or anything like that.

Something to consider: this has absolutely everything to do with the BTC rate.  If it had decreased, then vendors who received a bond refund would be receiving LESS USD than they initially paid.  It could have gone either way, and I'm not sure anyone could have anticipated it going so high so quickly!

It's good that you posted about it just in case it's something that needs to be fixed.  Went ahead and sent the info to the admins.  I'm glad to hear you're back on now! :)

and then the scammer's wallet would just implode and a million bitcoins would remain!

I haven't gotten that error, but thanks for posting it - I'll pass it along to DPR.  (but I *am* having it timeout a lot - so you're not alone there.)

ahhh damn :(
Even if DPR is saying he's fixing the BTC  widthrawl system?? Shouldn it' still be in the "SR" system if its not showing up on blockchain?

The problem is that most of the scamming was already on blockchain ... and the person had already transferred it around.  If you just were scammed today, then I'm not positive about what will happen.

No problem!  I hope you are able to get it taken care of!  They were able to get mine reset in about 24 hours.  Good luck! :)

Just noticed it's not there anymore ... hm, guess it was deleted.  Weird.

Sadly, I don't think it can be recovered.  :(

Wonder if this has anything to do with all the scamming bullshit that's been going on. Poetic justice if by some quirk of the BTC system, the scammed people's coins aren't going through to the scammers outside wallets and they're sitting there refreshing nonstop. Fucking scumbags.

hahaha, that would be amazing ... what if they simply were returned to the people's wallets?  wishful thinking, but man that would be nice.

I had this problem with my own account last time there was maintenance as well.  You'll have to create a new account over on SR and then send a message to SR Support to get them to reset your password.

Yes, DPR made another post announcing that there were major delays, but they're being addressed.
