Rumor mill / Re: XANAX BAR IS A SCAMMER PLEASE HELP
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:09 am »
That is not fair because you are forced to finalize early when you have to send the vendor the moneypak number to get your coin. Its not leaving the escrow sytem when you go through the listing and put the moneypak number in the adress line. You would think the millions that S.R makes that they would be fair and compensate people there money but it shows they dont give a fuck.

It is ABSOLUTELY taking place outside of the escrow system!  You are buying BTC with USD ... there is no way to do that in the escrow system.  I'm sorry that you were scammed and it sucks, but that is why a lot of people warn others to get their bitcoins from trustworthy exchanges rather than from vendors here.  There are some reputable btc vendors here, but the amount of MP scams going on makes it a really, really risky way to get your coins.

I have no idea what help you're wanting from people, but in the future, do NOT talk to LE and NEVER admit to buying drugs off of SR!    :-\

While I have no issue with Lim personally, I can assure you that he is NOT a moderator.  The only moderators are me and samesamebutdifferent, and then there are the admins inigo and DPR.  Limetless is a vendor, but not a moderator.

There is often a delay, so if you haven't received them in 12 hours, send SR Support a message on the main site.

SR can't do anything about refunding you because transactions completed to buy bitcoins do not happen within the escrow system.  It's the same thing as finalizing early for a scammer -- if you leave the escrow system or complete a purchase outside of it, there is absolutely nothing that SR can do to help you recover your funds.

MoneyPak will not give you your money back either because they are not reversible and there is no way to prove fraud because you willingly provided the MP number to someone.

Newbie discussion / Re: BlarghRawr needs some help.
« on: April 10, 2013, 12:51 am »
The real BlarghRawr had been in touch with me prior to deleting his account ... and the OP got in touch with me after I was suspicious, and was able to prove to me that he is really the same BlarghRawr.  So, he definitely confirmed his identity with me.  :)

Nope, no word.  Sometimes they just fix these things without responding ... so my best advice would be just to keep trying.

Not sure why the new account name, but it's definitely the real BlarghRawr.  :)

I am no longer saying anything - didn't realize what I was walking into when I tried to pass along what I'm sure PL himself would have said!

No idea, but I've let DPR know, so hopefully it'll be back soon!  You could try searching for posts by that vendor here on the forums -- if you find them, they will have a link to their vendor profile in their signature.

Do you really think CIC knows about SR and Lotus? Granted this is large scale but there are so many fake coupons out there and what would lead them here?

I'm only advising that because it's the same thing PurpleLotus used to tell everyone in his thread.  Just trying to help, though I'm not sure what his reasoning was.

Customer support / Re: "Report Vendor" Button - Useless?
« on: April 09, 2013, 11:44 pm »
Yeah it's a bit of a rock and hard place I'm guessing with the even smaller number of staff you'd be able to trust on the main site, hopefully the newer\more specific reporting system is at least helping them out a bit. Thanks mate.

My feeling is that they're overwhelmed with support requests and it just takes a lot longer to get through them each day.  Even more difficult would be to find another person to trust enough to bring onto their team.  So for now, we just have to stay vigilant on the forums and do what we can here to help the staff.  SSBD and I report to DPR and inigo on an almost daily basis, and I know that when we see a lot of reports of a specific vendor scamming people, we pass that info along immediately and staff over on the main site then look into it.

At the same time, there are other people abusing the "report this vendor" link by using it to report competitors, or report people for other reasons, and it just adds confusion.

If you're asking for someone to help you - like, for instance, me - it might be better not to then turn your plea for help into an attack on that person (me).  There's nothing I can do about money you've lost, but I can do more research into this vendor and let inigo know about them.

In the future though, if you want someone's help, asking them without the personal attacks would be best.  :-\

Anyway, looking into it.

Newbie discussion / Re: Search function?

The search on the main site is indeed down for maintenance.  The search on the forums always has that issue because this is Tor.

Technical support / Re: Bitcoins gone MIA

If your coins are truly gone, then either you have your account set up to auto-withdraw, or you've been phished.  Have you ever logged on from a login screen asking for your PIN?
