Rumor mill / Re: XANAX BAR IS A SCAMMER PLEASE HELP

Ya the initial shock is kinda over now and  i realize what your saying but i figured maybe DPR would see this and just those people that got mp scammed that day from that douche could get compensated but lesson learned. Thanks Scout for being stand up and patient past mods would have probably just gave me negative karma and told me to shut the fuck up but im only trying to stand up for myself and the rest of the people that got fucked the other day. I hate learning lessons the hard way  :'( :'(

I understand that frustration - 100%.  Another thing to keep in mind though is that in these transactions, the money that is scammed from people does not ever touch SR (since it is not in btc) - so DPR doesn't even have access to the stolen funds.

Anyway, I'm sorry again for your loss and I appreciate that you understand my point.  +1 for your attitude in spite of the loss.  :)

Yes, it can take several hours for your btc to show up, and there are plenty of threads on the subject.

If you don't receive them in 12 hours or so, send SR Support a message on the main site.

The vendors incompetence with FE policy, and the fact that he asked "Why haven't I gotten payment yet?" even after we clearly laid out that I will not FE leads me to believe he is trying to corner me into finalizing for no product. No transaction should be this much of a blunderfuck on the vendor's part.

There's no reason to FE for him.  As long as you avoid doing that, you'll be fine.

Scout does have patience but nobody is blaming scout im not at all even blaming S.R i just figured the millions they make they could do a simple favor and return coin when people have stats like me i would say i am a reputable customer.

Total transactions: 67
Total spent: $28321.23
Refund rate: 0%
Auto-finalize rate: 0%

Believe me, I wish there were a way to prevent scams entirely, and to refund everyone who had been scammed.  However, that's not possible, or even reasonable to expect.  The system that SR *does* have in place for the intended transactions (btc for a product) works perfectly as long as you stay in escrow.  When these transactions take place to buy BTC from a vendor here, those transactions are always particularly risky since they, by their very nature, cannot take place in the escrow system.  It might be one of the reasons we see so many BTC vendors scamming people - because they know that people are going to think they are protected when in fact they are not.  So they come here knowing how to scam people out of their MP codes, and take advantage of the fact that transactions to buy BTC aren't covered by SR Support.

Such a shame.  :-\

If it makes you feel any better, I, myself, have been scammed before when attempting to buy btc from a vendor here.  It was long ago when I was new, but it was for a large amount too, so I know how frustrating it is.  When it first happened, I, too, thought that bitcoin transactions were protected by escrow, but learned the hard way that they are not.  When you step back from the situation (somewhere down the line when you have gotten over the initial shock of the loss), I think eventually you'll be able to understand why SR Support can't offer support for those transactions.

In any case, my best recommendation would be either to buy btc ONLY from really reputable vendors like Sugar Mama ... or to do the safest thing and purchase your bitcoins elsewhere through an exchange.

So it has only been 2 days?  Sometimes there can be unforeseen delays.  You should probably wait until the end of the week at least and if you still haven't received it, then take it to resolution.  At this point though, there's no way to "cancel" your order since the vendor may already have put it in transit.

My mistake to think if he can close a thread that that means he is a mod.

If a thread was locked, it was either the thread-starter, me, samesamebutdifferent, inigo, or DPR.  Not sure what thread you're thinking of, but there's a chance I would have locked it if it was full of unending bickering.  In those cases, I feel like it's more fair to lock it rather than delete it.  So it really could have been me, depending on which thread you're referring to.

Regardless, Lim is not a moderator.  Everyone can verify this, if necessary, though it should be fairly obvious that this is the case.

Thanks for clarifying where that information came from though!

Great!  I'll lock this thread since we've taken care of the issue.  :)

Newbie discussion / Re: Losing bitcoins in blockchain!!
« on: April 10, 2013, 06:19 pm »
I made a deposit of USD $750 monday morning and blockchain still hasn't processed it from BitInstant.

That's not a blockchain issue -- that is a Bitinstant issue.  If it's not showing up on blockchain, it means Bitinstant hasn't sent any coins to the address.

You shouldn't be losing bitcoins ... but you WILL be seeing the USD amount decrease since all of a sudden today the rate is plummeting.

Have you tried restarting Tor?  If so, and you're still having the same problem, you'll need to create a new account on the main site and from that new account, send a message to SR Support asking them to reset your password for you.

I let DPR know about this issue yesterday afternoon, so I'm hoping they're already aware of how constricting this is.

Are you losing btc in your SR wallet?  Or your blockchain wallet?

Newbie discussion / Re: Transaction to SR delayed
« on: April 10, 2013, 05:38 pm »
I contacted silkroad support three hours ago and they still haven't responded. I've also had a lot of problems with blockchain to SR recently. Anyone know why support still hasn't responded?

These delays have become pretty normal around here.  SR Support won't necessarily respond to your message if it's just asking about the coin delay, but you WILL receive your coins.

Customer support / Re: PIN reset required urgently

Nobody hear has any power to help you, mate.  Scream all you like, but I've seen them go a week without even responding to moderator's emails.  Who knows... might do some good.  Probably not though.

In my experience, there are absolutely no exceptions to PIN waiting periods.  You just wait, and asking them to do it faster will just piss them off (yes, I'm aware that the automated system seems to have fucked up, I'm just saying asking them to break protocol or something is useless).

^ This is absolutely correct.  As SS mentioned, there is no way to speed up the process .. there's a glitch, yes, so you could message SR Support about that, but you'll still have to wait the normal amount of time before they'll reset your PIN.
