Title: How do I buy bitcoins on silkroad?
Post by: studmuffin on September 25, 2013, 12:24 am
I was using bitinstant but there doing a relaunch and I was told I could get bitcoins with a vinilla card on silkroad its self. Is that directly from silk road or is that from a vender? I just feel wierd about sending money to someone off the site with no finalize options or anything. If Silkroad sells bitcoins themselves I would like to know where I can buy them.

LocalBitcoins

Deposit cash into a bank account and have the coins in your LocalBitcoins wallet in 5 minutes. You are protected by escrow.
You only pay 1-5% more than SR Bitcoin value, unlike the MoneyPak/Vanilla/Reloadit which will cost 15-25% more than SR bitcoin value.

Whatever you do when it comes to buying btc from vendors please do it carefully especially with options like Money pak for btc, it's one of the biggest scams on SR, drain all the funds off the pak and send you fuck all.

Localbitcoins seems to be about one the most preferred options, whoever you end up looking at make sure you research the shit out of them first on the forums, not just go by the vendors rating, things can change fast on here so you need to see the most recent feedback.

yeah, i'd def. echo localbitcoins as the best way to go.  works out about the same - maybe cheaper - than places like bitinstant, and loads quicker too.  just make sure you choose a vendor with lots of positive feedback... just use your SR streetsmarts...  i was a bit wary, but have done it twice now and had the money in my wallet before i even made it home from the bank. of course, the coins then got eaten up in the great silk road BITCOINAGEDDON of 2013, but hey that's another story.... (but thats sorted as of 20 mins ago so who's complaining)

I don't know if she's still around, but SugarMama is reliable. Takes ~48 hours and if it's over $500, only a 10% fee. But if you hate fees just as much as I do, I will also echo the advice of localbitcoins. By far the most secure and the easiest.
