Title: Account Hacked!
Post by: kl4200 on September 22, 2013, 03:52 pm
My account was hacked with very little bitcoins in it but I had 4 active orders still in the processing stage.  I step up a new account and messaged the vendors asking them not to cancel the orders or change the shipping address (in case who ever hacked my account messaged them to do so).  I just herd back from one of the vendors and he said it sounds fishy and thinks he'll cancel the order (understandably).  I told him it will probably auto-finalize and I'll give him and extra .15 BTC for the trouble.  Did I do the right thing? and who do I talk to to make sure the vendors get their BTC?

^^um not entirely....if you can still log into your old account than you should change the passphrase and pin number and you will have no issues make sure when logging into SR you use this site only:
silkroadvb5piz3r.onion ......that is the site dont use anything different than that or with a .to at the end cause that is a third party service, memorize the site and go to that and you wont have any issues again.
if you cant get back in you can try support but i dont know how much they can help you because its hard to verify what account belongs to who, but atleast you did let the vendors know about the auto finalize if it has to happen, it will likely make most cancel cause they dont desire to wait but see if you can still log in or not and go from there

FUCK... ".to" is a third party service? I know I've clicked that before... damn. What is it exactly? A phishing link? Good to know, thanks.

well there are a few different versions. the links that have .to at the end of them are sites that allow you to access SR but now that third party has tracking of what you visited and can show that you directly went to SR so you are bypassing so of the anonymous factors of TOR and having third party services see what sites you view, i know sometimes they claim its faster browsing but its not worth showing your browsing history....ok and the phishing links will be a random jumble of shit similar to the forums link but will say its for SR....SR has one address and its silkroadvb5piz3r.onion    ...... that is it dont add shit to the link or change it or you are putting yourself out there to get fucker.....i dont even use the .to for forums cause that is available too, any other questions my man PM me

Uh oh! My Atlantis link has a .to at the end.  I better check that out!

I thought the .to domain was for the Island of Tonga.

.to  is used to access the tor network without tor its a gateway and shouldnt be used

Did you use one of the atlantis links on the forums and use the same name and password by any chance?

I got the link from a startpage search and have only used it while using TOR. I did use the same username but never would use the same password. My passwords are always lengthy alpha numeric and sometimes using various keyboard patterns that was advised in a US Air Force document.

I have not put any BTC into the account or made any purchases because I am new.

I did remove the .to from the Atlantis link but am unable to connect so far.
