Title: Account hacked?
Post by: Synthman on September 16, 2013, 05:48 am
Hey everyone

I have been a long time SR user and never had any account security issues. I would consider myself an advanced computer user, I only ever log onto my SR account from a secure computer and never share my passwords. I recently logged on to my SR account to find my balance had moved from .1 btc to a flat 0.00 btc.  I was confused because I dont see why that would have happened. I went to my transaction history and it said I had withdrew .1 btc. . Confusing since you need my pin to be able to withdraw... So I instantly went and changed my password. I then just logged on and realised since I was going to put more money into my account I should change my PIN, and what do you know, It wont let me change it because it says my PIN is wrong. Now I tried it 3 times and it said I had 2 more goes, I tried it one more time and it didnt work, and since I didnt want to lock my pin I left it at that and made a ticket. Then whilst I was browsing I got a message saying "Your  pin has been locked you may unlock it in 72 hours". I never did the last unlock on my pin? Im afraid something strange is going on with my account and that my account may have been comprimised but I dont know how, especially after changing my password. I made a ticket a few days ago but have had no response. Im afraid to put money into my account with my account doing all these weird things. Can any admins update me on what may be going on or give me some advice? I highly doubt I have a keylogger but with this odd behavior I wouldn't rule it out.

Thanks

If you sent SR support a customer support ticket a few days ago you would have had a response by now, normal wait time is around 12 hours sometimes 24 but there are no delays on responses at the moment so I do not know what happened in your instance, you should contact them again.

I would strongly advice against depositing any coins into your account until you have full control and have changed the pass phrase and PIN to something unique. You should also do a scan of your machine and check it for malware, rootkits, key loggers etc.

Also you should know that forum moderators cannot assist you with issues relating to your market site account, only SR admins can.

Hey

Yes there is definetly something going on with my account then. How would they have responded? There is nothing in my inbox or anything from a moderator. I have sent in 3 tickets and had no responses. I changed my password yet I think someone still is accessing my account but I am on a computer there is no way that they could have keylogged my brand new password I just set. And there is no way they could have got my pin. I am about to format my computer now as my account has most definetly been compromised in some sense. Its nearly identical to the user Nagasaki who opened a thread, I also have the blank withdrawal at some weird hour of the morning withdrawing all my btc. How could they have known my pin to withdraw cash when I use SR through liberte bootable USB?

This is very odd to me I think there might be some scam going on at the moment we are unaware of. Why havent I heard from SR admins? And why is it that i tried to change my pin 4 times and then the 5th time it locked itself out without me trying for the 5th time? How could someone be trying to change my pin even though I just changed my SR password? IM going to do a format now anyway.

I cannot really comment on what SR support would/will respond with, you will have pursue this matter with them directly I'm afraid.

With regards to the blank withdrawal that is how most are shown on your account for security reasons, SR support however will able to see where the coins when and do some digging for you.

Best thing you can do is wait until you hear from SR support now if you have definitely submitted a customer support ticket.
