Title: Why Can't you cancel orders??
Post by: manbear9 on September 14, 2013, 03:14 pm
Ordered something from a seller and now the bit coins are locked up.

The seller has NOT responded to any of my messages and I have not sent any address because they will not specify if they need it over PGP or what.

The order is marked as shipped- does that mean the seller is actually there just not responding to me? I don't know why they are marking as shipped when they do not have my address.

I haven't been able to cancel the order for days.. can someone please cancel so I can buy from a seller who will respond to me?

Only the vendor can cancel the order now.

And he marked it in transit so you could A) FE or B ) not cancel.

All you can do now is wait and take it to Resolution.

Damn that is like another 10 days.... is it possible hes not responding because its not in pgp?

I went through the manual and I still can't really figure out how to use it as it relates to this site, I didn't see anything on the forums either, can someone link me some kind of tutorial for PGP?

I have winpgp and pretty much don't know know what to do now and its not clear what to do, do i encrypt a message and then send it through silks? Or is there some kind of chat program inside pgp? What do I use the sellers code for?

http://www.gpg4win.org/

Download this.

Install it ( MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS " GPA " WHEN IT GIVES YOU THE OPTIONS TO PICK WHATS INSTALLED )

Once its installed, run GPA.exe

You'll be prompted to enter your name and email ( use fake info, like your Username and a fake e-mail )

Then you'll be prompted to make a password ( use letters and numbers, WRITE IT DOWN SOMEPLACE SAFE )

Then You'll be prompted to backup your key. ( doesnt matter where you back it up )

Then your all set to send pgp messages.

Open up Wordpad. ( minimize it for a moment )

Go to the Vendor's page on silkroad, and find his " public pgp key " Copy the entire thing, and then paste it in word pad.

Save it as " Vendor Key.txt "

Now, go back to GPA, click " Import "

And then locate that " Vendor Key.txt "

Import it.

a box should show up saying something like " 1 key found, 1 key added to keyring " some bullshit like that.

Now, you'll notice under your key will be that vendors key aswell.

to send him a message, you click " Clipboard " type out your message, or address

Then click " Encrypt "

Then Click the vendor's key in the new window that pops up, Click okay.

The message should now look something like

Quote
-----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE-----
Version: GnuPG v2.0.20 (MingW32)

-----END PGP MESSAGE-----

And boom. there you go. You've successfully encrypted your message and its now safe to send that to the Vendor.

I seriously doubt that, only a small % of SR users send all their comms encrypted and unless the vendor clearly states on their vendor page that they will not respond to any un-encrypted messages they are probably just ignoring you or haven't gotten around to responding yet, if they are a big vendor it can take a few days for them to respond.

In sying that you should encrypt all sensitive and identifiable information, I see someone has kindly posted you step by step instructions on how to instal PGP.

Pretty malicious that the guy set the order as "in transit" so I have to wait to get all my bit coins back, I mean he didn't answer any of my messages, not one.

It happens mate, use this experience as a learning opportunity and and keep looking for your vendors of choice, when you find the fight vendors you won't have to deal with this crap.

So I'm in the resolution center and I submitted why I should have my money returned and no response.. its been like 3 days... what should be happening?

Its almost like 13 days now and I knew after the firs t24 hours that the seller wasn't going to send me anything... no communication

Please read the SR wiki on how resolutions are decided, links are in the FAQ sticky at the top of this board.

But basically when you take an order into resolution 5 days is automatically added to the resolution period, orders will however never auto finalize once in resolution. So you propose the resolution you want and why, then the vendor can either accept your proposal or male counter proposals that you can either accept or reject. If you haven't come to an agreement with the vendor by the time the resolution period has expired and SR admin will asess your case and make an adjudication on the matter.

This is what he sent me

"    Your order has already been delivered i m 100% sure about that

So no refund is possible -- if you haven't received than send me your delivery address and i shall get you the tracker asap "

I NEVER gave this guy my address , lol?

Is he trying to con me into giving it so he can say he delivered, whats his angle?

I don't see why the case wouldn't be decided in my favor?? What do you think samesame?

If you have never supplied shipping details then nothing was obviously sent to you. Take it into resolution and state your case there, hopefully the admins will be able to pull up the details of your order, see now shipping information was provided and thus evidence your claim. I certainly would not be providing them with my details at this stage in the game.
