Silk Road's current bitcoin exchange rate is $70.33 USD per bitcoin. This is a pretty big bug...
???
-
+1 ... Sure is troubling... I'm assuming something was incorrectly edited during maintenance, as the site has been down for repairs several times in the past two days.
-
WTF
-
SR gonna shut down and fix it?
-
I seen that. Was going to place an order then it went to 70.33 what the hell?
-
Yeah pretty big bug if you ask me.. I just went from 5k to a little over 2.5 on my account. I thought I was tripping for a sec 8) lol. Hope everything gets sorted out!
-
I just went to press the buy button and I all the sudden didn't have enough btc. What is going on? These seems like a HUGE glitch.
-
Anyone who finalizes an order right now will make a ton of extra coins for their vendor assuming it's a hedged transaction. That seems like it would be a major, major problem for SR if they don't fix it soon.
-
Who do we contact to fix this?
-
This is a major bug that needs corrected ASAP!
Was just on maintenance and then the site came online, with this as an exchange rate!
CAN A MOD OR ADMIN COMMENT PLEASE

I'm trying to get hold of DPR right now, hold on to you seats and NOBODY FINALIZE RIGHT NOW OK!!@!
-
Kind of strange how there were maintenance links right before the BTC value dropped to $70.
Exactly, You would think that they would not have allowed the site to go live with such a fuck up. How the fuck does this even happen? if the value is set to an exchange, how the fuck does it happen?

Does any one have a clue on how this happened?
-
Everyone take a deep breath and relax. The sites under maintenance as we speak. Nothing to worry about, itll all get sorted out. Just a bug
-
as soon as I saw the maintenance page i felt so much better!
-
I think I just peed a little :o Seems the plug has been pulled...I'm getting the "Silk Road is temporarily closed" message. That is the message that appeared right before bitcoin tanked...Hopefully when it comes back up, bitcoin will have a pulse again.

Either someone changed something manually, or some sort of auto back up or restore process changed something automatically. If someone made the changes manually, lets hope they are active right now and figure it out quickly. The rate evaluation should not be tied into backups, restore, or updates. It shouldn't be stored at all really, it should be calculated live.
Hmm well if it should be calculated live how did this happen. It is a strange thing, People have been saying the exchange rate was off for a while now, Hell it was off by a good couple of bucks in favour of SR. This seems as if someone has been manually setting the price. Which I really dont like the sound of.
Also usually I get the Sr is down for maintenance. On this occasion I am getting this message.
"Silk Road is temporarily closed. We will reopen asap. "
