Post by: mob54 on August 27, 2013, 04:06 am
I had a relatively small amount of Bitcoins withdrawn from my account while I was on SR.  I did not make the withdraw and I have never given anyone my info on the site, What could possibly be the problem and who would I contact about the problem....or am I just screwed out of my bitcoins?  Please help!

Please refer to the sticky thread at the top of this board for links on how to contact SR support.

If you have had an unauthorized withdrawal on your account though then your pass phrase and PIN have been compromised which means someone else has obtained them, this usually happens via phishing.

Have you recently opened an account on Atlantis by any chance using the same credential as your SR account?

You may also need to check your computer for malware, rootkits, keyloggers etc.

I attempted to create an Atlantis Account and I do believe I used the same information.  Am I just screwed?  Man that makes me sick.  I was mid-purchase when my account was zero'd out.  I am disgusted.

There is your answer then, you were phished and your coins are gone I'm afraid.

You should never use the same credentials for SR as any other account, take your security seriously and create a unique and complex pass phrase and PIN that you do not use anywhere else.

Also please be mindful of phishing scams, there are multiple warnings posted all over these forums warning people about the Atlantis scam.

You will obviously need to change your PIN and pass phrase before using your account again.
