Title: Suspected Scam attempt - Resolve button inactive.
Post by: ogclovesit on August 20, 2013, 11:34 am
Hello All.

I am wondering if anyone can offer some advice on this matter..

Basically, I placed two orders with a vendor on Friday 9th August - the transaction was same country and the vendor purported to provide next-day delivery in most instances.

Next day nothing arrived, then it was the weekend, come Monday nothing still. I sent the Vendor a message and got back a response along the lines of "is it just me or is Tor not working I havent been able to get on for ages". - which I thought was a strange response for a professional service provider whom I have never had contact with before.

I have made more than 10 same-country orders before this and the Vendors have always been very professional and 80% of my orders have arrived the day after ordering. 4 days is the longest I had ever waited for anything and the seller was very apologetic in that instance.

Anyway, back to the story, I responded back to his message asking what software he was using and suggesting to download the latest Tor browser bundle - trying to be helpful.

I waited until the end of that week - nothing arrived still. Contacted the vendor again - this time he completely ignored my question regarding where my order was again and advised that "if you order today you will receive next week".

I noticed that the status of my order had changed on my summary page - before it had said "pending" and now it said "dispatched". So I waited another couple of days - nothing arrived.

I contact the Vendor again saying that I will give him 2 more days to get the delivery to me - (plenty of time seeing as the standard delivery time in my country is next day) if it has not arrived I will cancel the order and report the transaction.

So, two days on and I come to try and report it but I realise that I may have been far too lenient on this asshole. I read the wiki about reporting the transactions but my "resolve" link next to the orders is disabled - (have I been tricked into leaving it too long to report this?) and its talking about reporting it within 4 days of making the order. Or did I misunderstand this..?

The only saving grace is that the orders still have 10 days before they auto-resolve (seems a lot longer than normal but I am presuming this is due to the extended time the order status was left in "pending" while the idiot supposedly couldn't get on Tor).

How do I report this item if the Resolve link is blanked out / disabled?

Am I the victim of a disorganised idiot who cant be bothered to send his orders - or is this a cleverer scam attempt at trying to escape the Silk Road resolution centre, delaying dispatching items to cause a definite 'auto-resolve'?

Thanks for any help...

Hover your mouse over where is says "resolve" and it will tell you how many days/hours you need to wait before you can take the order into the resolution center.

If you need more information on how the resolution center works can I direct you towards the SR wiki in the first instance, the links are in the sticky at the top of this board. If you still have unresolved questions after that feel free to post back here.

aha, thank you for the advice - I appreciate it - the tip worked and it says i have to wait a further 4 days before I can enter the resolution centre. Cheers.

I also reported the item through the listing page - see if I can help from any others getting drawn in by this joker and his non-deliveries.
