Title: Accidentally clicked "get new address" when sending coins. Help!
Post by: kumonk on August 20, 2013, 04:33 am
I didn't realize that I had clicked the link to "get new address" while I was trying to copy and past my SR bitcoin address into my transfer from my external wallet.

Am I screwed?  Is there anything I can do?  I'm really worried I just lost my money...

Or should I just relax and it will show up i the new address I have now?

No need ot panic, all your SR btc wallet addresses associated with your account past and present are linked so any coins sent will find their way into your account.

Whew!  They arrived.

Thanks for the reassurance.

I was pretty sure that a button that easy to click woudn't screw me over completely, but there was still that nagging, panicking doubt  in the back of my mind..

Cheers!

Somewhere back in the 2nd quarter of 2012, there's a panic stricken ME with that same problem. Welcome to the club. That mini-stroke and associated gray hairs that will follow, are a rite of passage.

Only, I'm sure I was much more accusatory before even hearing that all would be fine. Something to the effect of, "How could they put a button that changes such a sensitive piece of information, right next to where most people copy it, to paste it on a ฿tc site!"

Oooo I was an angry young man back then. ;)
