I've been stumbling around for awhile now getting Tor, getting it to work, working out Bitcoin acquisition and I'm now ready to purchase from S.R.
However, when I look to the ordering page on S.R. it instructs me to affix my mailing address as if I'm mailing a letter. But, when I look for verification of that from online help sites I see that instead of a house, P.O.Box etc. address being put there instead, these help sites, show a - I guess it's a public key, copied into there.
Is this the correct way to do it. If so how's a public key linked to one's mailing address? Also, from where do I obtain the keys - both- public and private? I sur hope somebody takes pity on me and sheds some light on this frustrating process.

Ok stop right where you are and do not try to order anything just yet.
You need to do some more reading about how the site works and how PGP encryption works, do some searches on the forums, read the SR wiki in its entirety (link is on the sticky at the top of this board) and when you have done all that report back here with any questions you still have.

It is imperative that you Learn PGP, For Your Own Safety.
I don't want to blow your mind with all this tech stuff...However..once you go to the Newbie PGP Club, There will be others there to assist you.
Now....once you learn PGP you will then be able to take the Vendors Public Key and yse that to Encrypt your Personal Information....Thus Allowing you to Secure yourself.
