made a withdrawl from my SR account over 2 hours ago. BTC still hasn't been sent. was wondering if this is an issue with SR or if it's a problem with my withdrawl =\
-
Hi :) When you say btc hasn't been sent do you mean the btc is still in your SR account? If it's left your account it's all good. DPR runs the coins through a tumbler which slows things down, and I assume there's other security factors that delay things. Worry not, sometimes it takes a painful amount of time, but it always comes through! AB

hey AB...no the funds have been taken out of my SR account, but do not show up at all in my BTC address where i was sending them to, doesn't show up on the blockchain either.
i've had delays before - but just not over 2 hours. as well it is a fairly large transaction which is what's making me nervous
-
Yes, it's always when you decide to do a big transfer that a snag occurs... I hope this doesn't freak you out more, but I waited 48hrs+ once, and a few times 24hrs+. Only once was there actually a problem with my withdrawal, and SR support solved it no problems. They don't let you lose your money.
You can message SR support whenever, but I suggest waiting 12-24 hrs. Almost certainly your withdrawal will arrive well before then. If you take a look in the SR discussion section DPR posted that they were having some issues with deposits & withdrawals, but it seems to have been resolved, and I completed a transfer a few hours ago successfully. It took a while though, unfortunately. Patience is not a virtue I practice well :) AB

not a virtue i possess either lol . but thanks for the reassurance! will continue waiting hopefully it is completed sometime in the next few hours.

DPR posted the following a few hours ago:
looks like we had an unusual spike in withdrawals that kicked in an emergency shutoff. Everything looks ok, though, so we should be flowing again shortly.

Cirrus thanks for the update!

Not a problem at all, el_tigre! It seems like some people are still waiting for withdrawals to show up on blockchain, so I just let DPR know that the problem is still occurring.
Don't worry too much though - while the delay and wait are anxiety-provoking, it will all get taken care of, even if it means that the support team has to manually push things through on an individual basis.

I'm having the same problem .. nothing in blockchain :'(

Here's an update from DPR:

I have a question concerning withdrawal, Im a little past the new stage but still a lot to learn.
Can I withdrawal my BTC from here and somehow make it into dollars (in an account or something) to purchase other things online
or
Are there other sites whre you can buy normal run of the mill legal stuff. Thanks

There are indeed markets such as Mt Gox where you can set up an account and buy and/or sell bitcoins yes. Getting your $$$$ off their site has in recent times become much more difficult though and doing it without verifying your identity has been neigh on impossible due the financial regulatory restrictions that are now being imposed and enforced. I suppose it is important to remember that there is nothing illegal about bitcoin but you may need to be able to withstand scrutiny re how/why you have bitcoins which is why most people buy and sell they as anonymously as possible. A lot of people use services such as localbitcoins to buy and sell, why not check them out and do some research.
Hope that helps.
