Title: Password Change Problem
Post by: midgho on July 09, 2013, 11:51 pm
Edit: Thank you support for the help. The issue resolved.

I changed the password on my account a few days ago, and was able to log back in with it. I copied and pasted it so I knew it would work. I tried to log back in later, but couldn't. I assumed I must have typed it wrong originally or something. So I contacted support, and they were great getting back to me and letting me reset it. Support sent me an automated email with a random temporary password, which I quickly changed. When I logged back it said my pin was locked, which is fine. As long as I know my BTC are still there, I could care less if I have to wait 2 days.

Now this time I wrote password down, just in case, and typed it manually each time. There was no problem logging back in twice just to be sure.  Now today I just tried to log in and I can't. I am positive I had my password right. I wrote it down and tried it several times, and I made sure I had the capcha correct as well. I contacted support again, and am awaiting their reply.

What I am wondering though is if this has happened to anyone else? Could there be a problem with logging in that only happens after you change a password from the original one I made the account with? I don't really know how all of that works, so maybe that sounds stupid. Could there be any other problem I'm just not thinking of?

Wow, support got back to me fast. THANK YOU!  :)

They advised me to check for keyloggers and rootkits and be sure I was on the correct site and not using tor2web. So from my understanding, if I had a keylogger, then I downloaded tails or liberte and used that I would not still be affected and could log in safely. This may be another dumb question, but is that is correct?

if you have a key logger you will need to do a full HD format and reinstall the operating system, they are a bastard to get rid of.
