Title: Please help being held ransom by scammer: Funny Money
Post by: Dissappointed Buyer on April 23, 2013, 02:03 am
If i have put through an order and vendor tries to force me to FE but I refuse how do I get order cancelled? Vendor is holding my money hostage and trying to force me to FE... I am a new buyer and just want to cancel the order and move on. Luckily I did not FE. Smell a scammer a mile away after reading these forums!

Did you read the vendors profile BEFORE you placed the order, verifying that the vendor doesn't require FE for new buyers?

You will find that a majority of vendors require FE from new buyers (buyers with less than 5-10 purchases or buyers with a high refund rate).  If you went ahead and placed your order without checking if the vendor required FE for new buyers, and they did require it, you have little choice but to politely PM the vendor, explain your mistake, and ask them to cancel your order.

Keep in mind that if the order was hedged you will not get back the entire amount of BTC you used to place the order, you will lose 4% (I believe that's the amount) as the cost of hedging.  If the order wasn't hedged you will receive the same amount of BTC you used to place the order, you will not receive BTC adjusted to equal the amount of your order in US$ based on the current rate, meaning if you used 1 BTC to place the order and BTC were worth $150 at the time of the order and are now worth $100 you will still only receive 1 BTC not 1.5, the $50 loss is entirely on you.

Under no circumstances FE!

Contact SR support, this vendor has been reported for breaking the rules set out in the sellers guide and will probably be banned at some stage.

He is probably going to be banned, so you might get your money back sooner.

BTW, counterfeiting is really bad because it steals from others by lowering the value of the currency. That vendor is breaking the rules by offering that 'product'. I hope you somehow made that purchase by mistake, and were not really thinking of circulating counterfeit money.
