Title: First post, looking for Aussie help
Post by: break3215 on April 21, 2013, 12:21 am
Howdy there, first post and hopefully many more to come.
Down to business... I live in Australia and am wanting to begin shopping. First off though, I need BTC! Now, while this MtGox place seems to be the place for people to buy there BTC if they live in the US or EU, how to us Aussies it securely if we don't really have a secure way of transferring our $$$? I imagine using a bank account linked to your name to get BTC of MtGox and then transferring them to my SR wallet is a bad idea. So what do/can other Australians do? If you don't want to give your secret totally away, where can I find some information to help me? I'm getting all annoyed at myself for not doing this last week when BTC were a lot cheaper :/

Well, you'll soon get used to the volatility of bitcoins! Sometimes it's in your favour, sometimes you get nailed. Best thing is to get them on the same day as you plan to spend them and you shouldn't get too screwed.

I suggest spendbitcoins.com - you can go to several bank branches and pass cash over the counter and they will deposit them.

Also, you could hang out on the mining websites/irc forums - you might find people wanting to offload some. BUT - I find it ends up being quite expensive that way, because people want to hold on to them in case they increase in value (more)

Good luck!
