Two days ago I tried to spend a MP with Btc Buddy for coin. Sent the number and amt in the order just as requested. I read review after review that just said he was the best, most trusted coin vendor on the Road. So, he promptly pm'd me saying that because of my low buyer stats he chose not to do biz with me. Sucks but I understand. So I contacted heroinusa to place an order for coin. And promptly got a msg saying the. MP was empty. He also said he doesn't play like that and to find another vendor for all my needs. Which really sucks cuz his meth prices are incredible. :-( So one of these two ripped me off. I know that was a risk I took by sending that number out there. And I don't expect to ever see that money again. After being angry for awhile I started wondering.... was it the new vendor with very few reviews who has only been here for. 10 days? Or the established trusted vendor? I started searching forum topics and after many hours of reading posts and reviews, I learned that BTC BUDDY has alot of negative opinions about him. I didn't see any of this the first time I researched the name. U really have to dig to find some of it. Apparently if u new here and try to spend a relatively low amount like say $225, there is a very good chance he will cancel your order, give an excuse why he can't or wont deal with you, and meanwhile your MP comes up empty. I'm definitely not the first,but I have to ask... if a noob can see the pattern after reading through some forums, why hasn't admin stopped him? Why is he still in biz, ripping people off and completely getting away with it? Is it cuz all of his biz isc conducted out of escrow? SR can't help us since its not a usual sale, so who can. I don't know that its even fair for a vendor to operate here completely free from the rules and guidelines all the others have to follow. Which in turn takes away the customers safety net. Greendot is sending me a transactions history for that moneypak. I know what time each vendor got that number from me. It wasn't at the same time, so none of that. A post in a support forum for pissed off customers says that moneypak refunds aren't too difficult to obtain, AND if they receive multiple fraud/scam investigation requests and it turns out the funds are deposited on one card or in one account they will close that account and ban the user. SO, if some other noob is reading this after getting fucked by this asshole, call Greendot support. Tell em ur funds got jacked and maybe They can slow the fucker down.

Seconded. I was canceled on because "Sorry bud, I took too long." And my MP is now empty. His feedback is 100 because SR doesn't allow for negative feedback without a complete transaction, which is nigh impossible in this case.

sending money to someone here out of escrow is very dumb

Really sorry to hear what happened, I hate to read about people getting ripped off, I just hope you can find a safer method of buying coins moving forward.

It is often very difficult to do extensive research on such. Frankly, when I see a vendor with over a year on here, many transactions, and 100 feedback, in addition to a search not proving fruitful elsewhere, that the vendor is as trustworthy as anyone can be on SR.
As far as another poster has pointed out, part of getting BTC for many users is the anonymity aspect. And buying BTC requires funds that cannot be escrow-ed through SR, at least as it currently stands. Any options outside of SR either require some form of money trail that ends with some identifying mark, or through some means that is just as vulnerable to problems (Such as through SecondLife + VirWox, and SL siezing funds or requiring gov. issued ID.) And with no recourse as a buyer for BTC while trying to remain anonymous, what should we do?
There should be an easier way of verifying these sellers, or a better guide on getting BTC anonymously.

How about banning MP for bitcoins? I have no idea why it is allowed. As far as I know there has never been an instance of MP for bitcoin that was legitimate and not a scam.

Wow, I should have seriously looked up his name on the forums to see how much he scams people...
I sent him two moneypak codes yesterday. One with $500 and another for $130.
I sent him the codes through the order form when I bought his listing to convert MP to bitcoins.
What a fucking scammer man... Like really? He hasn't got in trouble for this? SR Mods need to see that he has been scamming people and ban him or help us get our money back from him! He really needs to go down and have his SR vendor account taken down so no one else gets scammed!
IF A MOD READS THIS, PLEASE GET RID OF BTC Buddy!!!!!!
Who else agrees with me that he should be taken care of? I have been on SR for almost a year but never have I posted on these forums... I made an account JUST to post about this experience because it was so fucked up of him to do it....

There is nothing the mods can do from the forums to ban vendors, scout and I pass up the names of suspected scammer vendors but everyone needs to keep reporting them on the main site to in order to bring them to the attention of the admins.
BTC for MP scams are rife, just looking back over the last few pages in customer support there are heaps of threads on this very issue.
Surely there is another safer way to buy BTC in the country where a lot of these scams are happening?
I hate reading stories about people getting ripped, please do all you can to avoid trouble and make sure you come to the forums and do plenty of reading before making any transactions on the market site.

Who's to say that the traders are being honest? Here are a few examples of trader scams on vendors. Sounds like a few semi-coordinated cry babies and selective scammers to me. Sending two codes. One valid one invalid. Placing an order with invalid code(s). Sending codes to more than one vendor and blaming one or the other. Hell both. Try and get coins from everyone. Why not? Tons of other bs out there as well.
Everyone on this site has scammed someone at one time or another. I am convinced of this. Where is the honesty? Can't we all just get along?
