Title: Fake Vendors
Post by: mrsb4tmcsjl6fzpr on April 01, 2013, 06:26 pm
Hey guys, I came across a vendor with over 300 transactions but only 10 product reviews. Is this a clear sign of a scam or am I overlooking something?

Not necessarily. It certainly is a little bit odd, but there are a lot of buyers who (for whatever reason) don't use the forums, and even less who actually submit reviews. Check the posts of the ones who did submit reviews and see if they look like legitimate posters.

Are you by any chance referring to TheBudfather?

If they put their old listings in stealth or if the delete their old listings, the reviews go with them.

This doesn't seem to hold true, as he still has reviews for items that he no longer has listed...

Nope but I will send you vendor link upon request, and I do not mean forum reviews. I mean on the vendor page he only has 10-20 feedback but 300+ transactions

The vendor may have taken a break for a while and therefore, had no transactions and feedback on his profile. Once feedback is more than 4 months old (I think it is 4 months anyway), it is no longer visible on the vendor's profile. This also effects the vendor's rating, so if a vendor has a lot of bad ratings/feedback, then takes a break of 4 months, they can return with a 100% rating and start all over again. I saw it recently enough and it turned out the vendor returned to scam for a lot of money and then leave again...piece of shit that he was!!

mrsb4tmcsjl6fzpr, there's no reason for you not to post the name of the vendor so everyone can see.

I just didn't want to associate them with "fake vendor" or a scam if they turn out legit.

That's ok, next time name the thread "what do you think of _____."  Also, if you keep any significant funds in SR, I wouldn't recommend EVER entering your PIN over the .to proxy.  If you do change it over the Tor client.

I don't know what to make of jacky.  Not enough to call them a scammer, but I would look for someone more reputable.

Do a forum search for jacky

Sorry I'm not much help,

SR main site is not loading for me at the moment mate and you have no idea how many PM's I get a day.

I will try and take a look tonight when I get home from work but in the mean time just look for a different vendor if you are unsure re this one, there are  plenty to choose from  ;)

My .02 bitcents, it would have taken Jacky an awful amount of time to create so many fake accounts, create so many fake transactions, give so much money to SR via fees, I wonder why he/she wouldn't have created more fake feedback? All that effort for, in the end, a few scammed buyers who immediately express their outrage in feedback and forum posts, halting his/hers scammy dreams? Certainly doesn't compare to the ridiculous ease with which Vendor Support guy absconded with 10's of thousands of dollars. It is weird, though, not to have more feedback. Maybe try messaging Jacky, see what he/she has to say about the lack of feedback. I like the prices of those fentanyl patches, maybe I'll message him/her...
