Title: Not getting 100% of they money I send to my account
Post by: greenrain on March 29, 2013, 07:35 am
I'll make this as short as possible:

I had $40 already in my account. I deposited a total of $470 after fee's, using BitInstant to Bitcoin Address. So, I should of had; 40 + 470 = $510 in my account. When I log in to my account it shows I only have $466 available.

This is my third deposit, and I have noticed that I have never received the full 100% of my money when transferring into my account. Does SR take out a cut each time you deposit money into your account? Or, why is it that I'm not receiving my full amount each time?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

No SR does not take a cut of the coins to deposit in your account. SR used the weighted average BTC rate, maybe this is a fraction lower than the highest price you bought them at?

Thank you for your response. I'm not sure at what price I paid per bitcoin. I guess it's whatever BitInstant had them at. I tried to look and see but did not find that information.

What I do know is that BitInstant said I would be receiving $470 (after fees) worth of bitcoin to my bitcoin address. When the funds arrived I only had a total of $466 in my account. And this is including the $40 I already had in my account.

I know the prices of bitcoins can change quickly, but I'm not sure if that's the case? Because the money was in my account within a few hours after making the transaction. So, I don't see the price changing that much. It has been this way with all three of my deposits. I would always get back a little less then I actually sent it. Only this time it was more of a considerable amount.

Try using an external wallet.  That way when you deposit, you can see what coin came from where.  They all get mashed up in the same pot on SR.

I have exactly the same problem! Everything you said. Did you get some help? What do they mean by "external wallet"?
I can't deposit on my own account, says I miss 0.004! Now I'm afraid to buy bitcoins I can't deposit afterwards cause it's too low...

An external wallet can either be hosted online though a service such as blockchain or a wallet saved onto you computer like Bitcoin QT.

You didn't deposit $ you deposited BTC.  It's possible that BitInstant sells BTC at the high instead of the average.  Their site doesn't tell you.  I've looked.  Go here and you can see how many BTC they gave you.
