Here is how it went down.
I made an order. It did not arrive in the time before auto finalisation so I extended 20 more days as I knew this could take a long time.
With 8 days left, I requested a refund. Nothing has happened since and now in my resolution center, it is saying "due in 9 hours".
Do I need to extend the due date more? I want a refund as the vendor is not communicating but nothing has happened. If I leave it, will it get passed to SR staff to issue the refund?

This is covered in the SR wiki.
In circumstances where the buyer and vendor cannot arrive at an amicable agreement then yes SR support will decide.
